Obama played his card too soon. Shoulda waited until closer to the election to do this, tbh.

They wouldn't have to; only one of you is right. The point of a benevolent despot is someone with ultimate authority who always does what's best for everyone. It doesn't matter if people disagree over a certain issue, because the way the despot chooses to address it is necessarily correct.

And speaking of Trump.

-Let birther nonsense fester for years.
-Let GOP move farther to the right by way of Tea Party.
-Let birther and "Manchurian Candidate" bullshit get firmly tied with GOP as they ride the Tea Party tiger.
-Show irrefutable proof that it's all blatant bullshit meant to smear the President and nothing else.
-GOP quickly becomes discredited.
-Win election.

Or, the crazies in the right keep vomiting out the bs they've been retching up for the past few years, and the teabaggers end up controlling the nomination/convention and nominate someone like Palin/Huckabee/etc and all the centrists/independents run scared to the left.

either scenario works for me though

actually, they just shifted.

"African? Was only Negro or Black in '61" seems to be trending highest, even though it may have been because it also shows his father was born in Kenya.

I've also heard "Well his father was Kenyan so he's not a real American". Thank you author of The Tea Party Manifesto Joseph Farah.

He produced his birth certificate during the campaign. The same birth certificate you would get if you were required to prove you were a us citizen.

Anyone who is a public servant that is voted into office should have all of their records up for public observation.

They were. No other president or candidate has had to provide a long form birth certificate. John McCain didn't provide a birth certificate at all, which is funny because he was born on a military base in Panama. That makes him legally a US Citizen, but the bullshit spewed by some birthers now questions the constitution on who should and shouldn't be a citizen, and what the founders meant by 'natural-born'.

I don't understand why you have to be American born to be president anyway.

Please explain.
