If you don't have a steady income I'd avoid letting your Credit Card automatically deduct money from your checking account because you can run into the other problems with overdrafting.

If you don't have a checking account you should open one so you can write checks to pay off your credit card. Also, with a checking account, you'll be able to set up online payments (that aren't automatic). Contact a rep. from your bank and/or your credit card company to find out exactly how to get setup with this stuff.
