1) The "gratuitous" porn is hardly something to complain about, considering it's done while the plot is being forwarded anyway, so it's basically background noise for your eyes.

So I'd been afraid to post in here for fear of spoilers.

Basically, everyone I know was telling me that I need to watch the TV show, read the books, or both.

I opted to watch the show. To give you an idea of how addicted I became, I blew through all 10 episodes in under 5 days. SO GOOD.

I'm now debating what to do with myself...I think I'm definitely going to get the first book and read it...just because I know all the characters now and would be interested to see what details are left out of the show.

The conundrum I will have is when i finish the first book. Do I continue on to the second one...or do I wait for next season? Part of what made the show so damn compelling for me was that I had no idea what happened...so like when:



I was like WHAAAAAAATTTT.

And then when I was like OOOOOOO SNAP.

There's just so much awesomeness. Also, I want a Dire Wolf for a pet.

Well Azlema, the biggest thing to consider is that with just about every book to movie/tv series there are parts that have to be left out or the tv show would be too long. I would recomend reading book one to see any parts that had to be left out then maybe gradually read book two so you are ready for the next season. I plan on reading all of the books, my wife is almost done with the first one since she got over being sick last week and then I plan to read the remaining books before the season, then maybe reread them during the seasons.

Yeah I'm definitely gonna be grabbing the books when I have some spare cash

They do have a lot of seemingly pointless nudity. I think that's because it's an HBO show...and if you can't see some titties and some bush...what's the point of having a show on HBO?

I think they take this in stride...because usually when there's ridiculous nudity happening, characters are discussing important plot points, or the dialogue is at least semi-interesting.
