Both sides are full of idiots. If people were really thinking for themselves and clearly understood the way things worked they would have overthrown the government (or at least effected actual change) long ago.

The only real argument one could make about conservatives being swayed is to look at the difference between conservatives now and conservatives 20-30 years ago and see how they've changed. It is interesting to note that the "let the government burn instead of raising taxes on the richest" conservatism of today is pretty out-of-line when compared to their Reagan messiah, who raised taxes 11 times including the biggest increase in peacetime.

I would also argue that the spirit of compromise has gone completely out the window in the conservative party. The main reason liberals are disappointed with Obama is his compromises with the right. Unfortunately, instead of the right working with him they just keep stepping back every time he comes to the middle. It seems like he's the only politician who realizes the country is split between the parties, getting elected doesn't mean you just fuck over the other half.

Rachel Maddow has not been hurt by the departure of Olbermann as the monthly ratings press release from MSNBC stated, “The Rachel Maddow Show marked the 13th consecutive monthly win over CNN among A25-54 (301,000 vs. 236,000) and total viewers (1.102 million vs. 809,000). This is the strongest A25-54 delivery for TRMS since November 2010 and the best total viewer delivery since March 2009. Compared to January 2011, “The Rachel Maddow Show” grew +11% in total viewers and 19% in A25-54.”

Clearly no one is taking Maddow's extreme stance seriously. If Mediaite is to be believed, she's even topped Fox in that time slot a few times since Olberman left.

Yeah I'm not sure the idea of: "Better Ratings = We're Right" makes any sense whatsoever.

Unless you're trying to say "Better Ratings = We Are More Open Minded" or "Better Ratings = People Take Us Seriously"

Really, I have no idea what ratings have to do with anything. The Jersey Shore has great ratings....that in and of itself should tell you everything you need to know about what ratings mean.



Also, if you assert that Fox is a beacon of journalism because it has great ratings....and you also agree that Fox is the only conservative news network in a sea of liberal-leaning networks....

DUH they get great ratings...they are the only ones! Liberal hippie fags have to choose between MSNBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC for their news!

Fanta says no 'educated' liberal (and Christ knows liberals think everyone on their side is Stephen Hawking and everyone on the other side is Larry the Cable Guy) would take Maddow seriously, yet apparently over a quarter million people take her seriously enough to watch her at night. So apparently there's at least 1/4 million liberals who don't realize they've incorrectly affiliated themselves politically.

And Tehra, I can make it work, but I used to be able to put bold/italics/underlines in between url brackets, and that doesn't work anymore.

Ah I see your point. Well, there are uneducated liberals just as there are uneducated conservatives...and there are morons who take morons quite seriously.

I find it just as appalling that people take Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Bill O'reillly seriously...yet it happens.

Interestingly enough, all of the pundits are ok by me when serious shit goes down, its when nothing is going on and they're forced to fill the air with bullshit from their own stupid heads that i can't stand any of them.

Glenn Beck is a nut, and Bill O'Reilly just says what his audience wants to hear (I can still remember the time he said something to the effect of "Nothing is more important than freedom of speech, but we have to find a way to hold people accountable for what they say"). However...I think Rush Limbaugh gets a bad rap, because the only thing most people who don't like him have ever heard that he's actually said are out of context sound-bites. You really have to listen to him for like a month and a half to understand what he's doing.

Oh, so you get it. That's what I like about it...he even does this thing now he calls the "media tweak," where he says something he knows will be taken out of context on purpose to get groups like Media Matters to have a seizure. It really is professional trolling, and that's what I like about it.
