Monster cables vs generic is based almost entirely around marketing hype. Don't waste 10x the money on cables that do the exact same thing.

You sir, are completely wrong about the quality, but yes they are insanely overpriced. The funny part is there is much more proffit margin in the off brand cables. I cant remember the brand but BBY used to carry a blue colored cable that we were all told was great but we needed to push monster. I bought the 60$ set of cables for 7 bucks instead of the mosters 100$ cables for 40$. However, for this type of set up you should go with the lower price cables, if it was a 70 inch tv running blue ray and an insane sound system you may want to drop the money on monster but not on this rig.

okay so... I abandoned the Westinghouse idea. I also abandoned the Best Buy idea (for now). I have since discovered Tiger Direct. So, I browsed around and found two suitable LED tv's. I'm having trouble deciding which one though:

37" Vizio, 1080p, 60Hz, 100k:1 contrast, 16:9 aspect, comes with a soundbar, $530
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=555264&CatId=5988

32" Vizio, 1080p, 120Hz, 1M:1 contrast, 16:9 aspect, $480

Which is more important for xbox/netflix? Screen refresh rate or size? Halpo!

EDIT: forgot I could just add links instead of going back and forth and listing specs...

Newegg probably has a lot of that stuff, too, and I cannot recommend them too highly. They're really amazing.

I checked on newegg, but didn't really find something to fit my budget. Any thoughts on the links I posted?
