I worked with an ex-Russian mechanical engineer who told me her village was given some land and other crap to maintain crops for their own survival. Things were fine until people in the village started doing less work because someone else would pick up the slack. At some point, everyone had that mentality and the crops started to suffer. I don't know much about Russia and the winds which changed their society, but from what she said, that was a very common problem in her day. (She's probably close to 70 or so.)

Also, I'm betting that if you contributed nothing to the tribe, the tribe probably dropped your ass.

To each based on their need, from each based on their ability leads to everybody dropping a step in ability and jumping up a step in need. Someone making 10/hr is going to go 'fuck it' and take the 8/hr they can make doing nothing. Someone making 200k a year is going to go 'fuck it', because he's going to get taxed down to 40k a year. Now production takes a dive because workers and investors alike said 'fuck it', because there is no opportunity to flourish. As production goes down, well, apply Supply and Demand. Supply goes down, Demand remains the same, prices go up. Now 40k isn't enough to live on, because toilet paper is 5 bucks a roll for the crappy ass chafing stuff. Now everybody wants more from the government that is pulling less in because less revenues are being made.

This system eventually becomes unsustainable. Add the fact that government has a tendency to grow. So they'll almost surely attempt to take other freedoms. Maybe they'll take lands or factories and start forcing people to work there to get production up. Anybody that has 8 years of medical training will be a doctor, whether or not they are like my favorite teacher, and wanted to be a teacher instead after practicing medicine for 15 years. They won't be able to though. Maybe the government mandates that a certain type or select few types of a certain item is made, and only those are made. I mean, people don't need 25 different alarm clocks to choose from, right? So we're only going to produce 1-3 kinds and cut the rest. Now I'm going 'son of a bitch' because all these clocks have super bright lights that don't let me sleep. Then I'm late for work to the point I get fired, and by fired I mean my ass get's dropped and I'm no longer allowed much of anything until I can prove I can be a productive citizen.

Ok, the last one was just being silly, but the point remains.

I said aspire, not implement.

I realize communism doesnt work practically and i beleive i staed as much, but that doesnt mean it is not a good ideal to strive for.

To aspire for something is to hope to one day be that something.

Which is synonymous with 'implementing'.

But I think I know what you mean.

Wtf $5 a roll? Where the hell is it that expensive? Even here in effin Potomac, the heart of Montgomery county, where everyone is a doctor, lawyer, politician, CEO, etc etc it's $8.99 for a pack of 12.

Or maybe you were exaggerating and I didn't get it?

Toilet paper isn't 5 bucks a roll because we aren't Marxists.

I was giving a prediction if we were to turn to Marxism or Communism.
