So, this Anime I've been watching (Black Butler) has some kooky bitch named Grell and she's a Grim Reaper, of sorts. She tries to kill someone by putting them in a giant barrel of salt so only the head sticks out. The guy who was put in the barrel is into that kinda shit so he didn't struggle and he just commented about all the water in his body being leeched out.

I googled to see if this was possible but I didn't get any conclusive results.

1) Would that much salt leech the water out of a persons body?
2) About how long would it take?

The salt is probably irrelevant.

If you don't hydrate them, it'll only take what is it, 1-3 days?

Salt I don't think is going to speed things up terribly. Probably cause discomfort more than anything and preserve the body very well once it died.

But that's just a guess.

I keep trying to get into anime and I just can't do it.

Is Naruto really good? I've thought about trying to watch that on Hulu.

Studio Ghibli/FMA are great gateway anime. Avoid Naruto/Inu Yasha/other shit with 200+ episodes like the plague. Stick with the 1-2 season gems (Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Witch Hunter Robin, Hellsing and the like)

I have a problem with some Animes that just drag on and on, such as Dragonball (Insert combination of letters here), One Piece (horrible art style), Bleach and Naruto. Naruto is one of those Animes that are too exhausting to watch. If you consider Naruto and Naruto Shippuden then you're looking at a series that is over 400 episodes in length. Unfortunately, the original series wasn't all that exciting, it was loaded with filler episodes and it climaxed around episode 110 or so, meaning you had to sit through shit just to get to a pathetic ending. Shippuden is a much greater series but some of the story arcs (like the Leaf History) are a total waste of time. I'd read the cliff notes of Naruto then start on Shippuden. All the key scenes from Naruto are replayed in Shippuden by way of flash backs, so you'll get to see the main points of the first series.

I prefer stories that can end between 20 and 60 episodes. I'd suggest watching one of these:

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Hulu


Also, Evangelion might be interesting but I wouldn't it watch it for a starter anime.

Netflix has a pretty good library of anime available to stream as well. I've been casually watching Claymore which is pretty good, but not the greatest starter.

Honestly, pick up either Cowbow Bebop or Brotherhood. They're both exemplary series. (both stream on Netflix which >>>>>>> Hulu)
