The bank in this case had closed it's doors and file bankruptcy. That left no one to claim the property, or actually once the bankruptcy court determined the new owner of the property it was already too late.

...which is exactly the reason active possession exists.

So with this new information we go back to square one: right-wing media distorted the truth to make it sound like the government bogeyman haunting a third the nation's land was hosing legit businesses through excessive regulation...when the truth is the law acted to increase productive use of land.

And you know what? Several people took those false claims at face value. They were taken for fools hook, line, and sinker and poo-pood those who knew better.

Also see, "White Elephant Syndrome".

When you can abide by your own standards, the rest of us may follow suit, so don't get peeved that someone is following your rotten example. Your 'questions' are/were merely a downward spiral of stupid-dressed-as-smart tossed up to avoid the inevitable conclusion(s): that you're not just wrong, and you're not just nowhere near as smart as you'd like to think, but that you are, in fact, dumber than most of the people on these forums you accuse of being witless rubes.

The "right-wing media" didn't mention anything about the government's ownership of land...that was one of us (USD, if I remember correctly). I don't know how you can expect anyone to take you seriously (and I doubt anyone here does anymore) when you can't even differentiate between a news article and something one of us said about the subject. You should probably put your tackle box away before you fling a bad cast and hook yourself through the cheek...it's not like any of us are biting anyway.

The theme of the article is that people who have been foreclosed = bad and banks that foreclose = good. Establishing that theme is the motivation behind the article.

Were it not so, the article wouldn't have misrepresented the situation in such a way that it coincidentally parallels Fox's typical bias.

You called me stupid/ignorant/whatever, but isn't there abundant objective evidence to the contrary - experience and proficiency in these fields? By contrast, if you agree the country is going the wrong way, and people who share your opinions are the mainstream, then isn't it logical to conclude that your opinions are less likely to be correct than people who dissent?

...Actually, screw it, you clearly, as my dad said to me when I as a child refused to look something up in the encyclopedia or read a book, "want to stay stupid." Ciao!

So If I believe in A, and the theory A is mainstream, I'm less likely to be correct than people who believe in B?

Am i the only one who thinks this makes no sense?

Most business regulation is crafted under consultation with private industry (for better or worse) and ultimately makes for a more competitive economy.

The first half of that is right.

It doesn't make for more competition though. Large companies like tough regulation that start up businesses are going to have a hard time complying with. Companies also like regulations that create their markets, like GE's green energy that exists due to regulations on non-green energy, or Warren Buffet's estate tax insurance that doesn't exist without estate taxes.

Does 'Ciao' mean Nostrodumbass is going to stop predicting random ninja attacks, shut his smelly face hole, and fuck off now? Because if that's the case: Mission Accomplished. My Spider-Sense tells me it's probably more like Mission Impossible, but we can always hold out hope.

I agree with that completely. I also agree that most green energy firms spawned by corporate welfare are garbage and should be killed. My favorite is these energy firms that hire signature farming contractors to get sigs in support of legislation to hand them money. It's things like that which need to be actioned.

When I said that regulation helps competition, I meant in the context of regulation in general forcing American firms to make better products so they can compete more effectively against firms from other countries. Example: Chinese citizens prefer American goods and food (especially milk) because it's known to be way safer.

How do you? Looks like a classic case of brainwashing. You mentally exclude what is unacceptable to your programming.

Not to mention the argument that "mainstream is more likely to be true" is itself a small and cowardly way of thinking.

I dont see how you can say that if a lot of people believe something, they are more likely to be wrong.

are you saying the earth is flat?

I'd suggest running a pool to judge how long it will be before you snap, crack, break or w/e your type of psychological disorder does when it finally hits a wall, but that would be morbid, and it would honestly just encourage you to wander even farther off your nut than you already have until the contest became a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy.

I'm betting on some type of paranoia. Giant conspiracies run by old white guys are killing people and everyone who doesn't agree with you is 'brainwashed.' Unless you find some pods in your garage and post pics, I'll await your inevitable arrest for whatever it is that the voices tell you to do. Maybe we should run the pool taking bets on what the source of the voices will be! I just hope you don't end up getting your direction from a dog, that's been done, and I'd like to think that despite everything else, you still have originality going for you.

Jubber

9 days.

...what? I seem to have a good track record with a "few short months" and "ego death".

If it doesn't work, yeah.

After all, wasn't there a time when the opinion that the earth was flat was in the majority? Then consider that all you need to do to debunk that opinion is gaze at the horizon.

There is a reason this has to be explained to you three times.
