As usual, you miss the point, which is, simply put, that you're talking out of your ass because Sweden is no longer a homogenous country defined by a single race and culture. No one here gives a greasy shit about whether Swedes need "a frank debate" or this guy was batshit crazy (which he no doubt was/is). I'm sure everyone will agree with me to some extent when I say that I could give a fat flying fuck off a trampoline about the shooter or Sweden's politics. All we care about is our new sideshow: watching you say something stupid and/or wrong then twitching about like a landed trout trying to convince yourself and the rest of us that you're neither stupid nor wrong.

The shooter was a white ultraconservative who shot other white people, many of them children. In Norway.

That doesn't mean much in the context of a single incident.

And because I didn't get involved earlier, the 'frank debate' statement was referring to the increasingly vitriolic and xenophobic nature of rhetoric in Norway (and America). The kind of rhetoric that can lead to these kinds of incidents. The author was suggesting that people need to tone down the veiled hate speech and talk like human beings who can understand shades of gray.
