So I decided we should talk about something other than American politics, even though America is the greatest and most important country in the world and everyone who's anyone should have a loud opinion on our affairs.

So...the next MMO. GW2.

What will you be doing? Thoughts of creating a FUBU guild?

not interested in it. had to drop rift in prep for this job thing i been workin on. planetside 2 has piqued my interest, but sony has done their level best to fuck every game they have into the dirt so i'm cautious.

Stealing my parents HD camcorder so I can take cam-vies f GW2 at PAX. Tomorrow (when I get to use a real computer), I'll update the GW2 thread with some info and a couple great interviews from SDCC. I'll also take requests/questions/whatever and I'll do my best to get them answered at PAX.

Highlights of the new demo premiering at PAX and Gamescom:
Sylvari and Asura playable (and Sylvari week between now and then)
PvP!
Character customization
High level (60+) content
Charr starter zones
All 7 revealed professions
Underwater combat
Mesmer reveal (I'd bet money on this)

Also, it's looking like the Ascalon catacombs instance will be open to play too.

3 weeks until Gamescom! (4 until PAX, amg so excited/need to finish my costume)

Edit: what will I be doing? Main will be a ginger Norn ranger (shortbow & longsword/torch), Frejya Høthgar. She'll be for PvE and exploration. The human sisters, Jasmine and Isabelle Assad (Stormlord (septer/focus)(lightening elementalist) and Mesmer (pistol/focus)) will be for PvP; as will Charr legionnaire and master engineer (pistol/pistol) Shiraz Scorchpaw.

I'll probably mess around with a winterborn Sylvari thief (sword/pistol & pistol/pistol) who will look like a birch tree... And that's about it.

You know it's still hard for me to consider myself an MMO player, since WoW is the only MMO I've played for more than a month. That said, I may still give GW a shot, because why not.

Mostly interested in Firefall and the new Tribes (though that second one's not an MMO) and USD, if Planetside 2 ends up existing for real and the Enclave plays it, I'm joining the outfit.

If destruction exists, we must destroy everything.

I'm certainly going to try GW2 since it's a one-time purchase (until Expansions come out), and a one-time purchase is great since I don't know how much time I'll have as my son get more and more active. I'll probably be an ultra casual if I do get into GW2.

Then again, with BF3 right around the corner... I might give up on all other games for the rest of my life.

Invite to PAX and send me a set of plane tickets. I still have a week of vacation to take this year :3

Alternatively...you could teach your son how to play. Then, force him to farm etc. and make your character rich.

It would be a great way to teach him the value of a solid work ethic.

His social development might be hindered though.

I do have an extra Sunday pass...

I'm skipping GW2 and waitng on SWTOR. That's where my friends and I are gonna be and I don't see why we can't make a FUBU guild there.

If nothing else BF3, Skyrim and other assorted goodies will keep me occupied.

Is it Sith vs Jedi?

I always wanted to be a Jedi...but that's the same side as Jar Jar...so maybe Sith is the way to go.
