You could always install TriviaBot and go to Goldshire. Start up a game of general trivia and award 100g to the winner(s) of each round. But definitely don't give away any of your possessions, because if you do end up coming back and need to make some gold, you'll be fucked if you've given away your gold and whatever you could use as a backup for that gold. I know that when I quit in 2010, I gave away all of my Primordial Saronites, along with about 20k in gold and other items, to my ingame friends. And then when I came back half a year later, I was dead broke and had to work my way back up through mining on Dagery since nobody gave a shit about Bryzette's flasks. Shit sucked.

So still the 800lbs gorilla in the MMO-verse, but losing nearly one million subs in 6 months is hilarious (imo)

minus half a million botters, hackers, and china farmers
minus a million people who have accounts they don't even know they pay for because they don't read their credit card statements and are too rich or stupid to care, or who just don't log in
minus a million alt/RAF accounts

Then divide that across North America, Europe, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil and the rest of the world.

There's probably only about 600,000 or so Western players. Out of a potential market of Westerners, who have internet and are between 16 and 35, numbering about 500 million.

The playerbase is small enough that I could zone into LFD and fairly frequently run into people I know, or friends of past associates. When you consider that LFD spans the entire NA playerbase, you realize how small the numbers must be.
