If the only way you can get a child to go to the doctor is to give them a cookie, it's not because you're concerned about the cookie.

The issue wasn't that republicans are right, the issue was the republicans were willing to crash the economy unless they got what they wanted. The bigger picture was more important.

The Dems went with it because they're pussies and didn't want to challenge the stupidity of the electorate.

The GOP went with it because a small number of influential individuals either wanted to make a buck, settle a score or put ideology into motion.

Neither war had anything to do with bin Laden. I mean, hell, he wasn't even in the country, and we didn't even have to invade the country he WAS in to put a bullet between his eyes.

What is the point of having a debt ceiling if it's just raised over and over and over?

There's been a number of times the debt limit wasn't raised, and we didn't tumble into oblivion.
