biggest video game disappointment

Starcraft 2...I found the storytelling way too staid and cliche. The map scroll controls suck and it's stupid that keys can't be rebound. The visuals don't have good contrast between functional and background elements, and the animations are too gaudy, making it hard to see what's going on.

Mass Effect...the palette and contrast are so bad it's impossible to see what's going on, and the controls are clunky at best.

Others, hmm.

Parasite Eve 2...nothing at all like the original, they took a genuinely new and interesting game and turned it into a really bad cross between Resident Evil and Secret of Mana.

Number one of all time for me...Sim City 4: more proof of EA's ability to turn any franchise into over-engineered shit that doesn't work. That game had a lot of promise, but shoddy programming made it totally unplayable.

Fortunately, they changed that months ago.
Making low graphics settings the best way to actually see what's functionally going on in a game is pretty bad though.

I totally though Parasite Eve 2 was awesome, granted not as good as the first but I still liked it a lot. Then again I'm a huge Resident Evil fan so it's not like making it more like that would ever bother me.

I'm confident C&C 4 takes the cake with disappointment in a franchise.

I really hated Halo 3. I'd say going from playing Halo 2 to 3 was a huge let-down. Too different from the original and Halo 2. inb4 lolhalosuxlol

as much as i hate the game, they do get credit in the graphics department. ultra looks amazing, and the very minimum settings are so bad even my old single core shitfest computer that i was using before i built this one could run the game pretty fine.

considering games like saints row 2 look worse then san andreas and still ruin most dual cores, it's quite the feat.

Good visual appearance is a question of palette and not technical sophistication.

I thought halo 2 was a huge letdown. halo 3 wasn't horrendous but it was better than 2.
