My dream job honestly, would be to serve on the Board for a Nonprofit or some sort of Community based organization that works to help people make a better life for themselves. Ideal organization would empower people rather than enable them, be religiously neutral, politically neutral, and self-sustaining. It would rely on minimal grants from taxpayer dollars, ideally none. IDK IM AN IDEALIST.
It sounds good but in practice those people are usually selected based on hair and suit quality and the ability to kiss the asses of rich benefactors who just want a moral shill, and they run the nonprofits like their own personal cash box and fief.
I mean, I really like the idea of trying to do things to change the world for the better, but I've become severely disillusioned with the capacity of nonprofits to do so.
