Best show ever? Yeah, yeah it is.

I've watched that show.

Take Dick. Gouge out his eyes. Exaggerate his character by a factor of ten.

That's what my father is like.

Ordering something like Chicken Cordon Bleu is like asking for a kick in the jaw.

The odds you will actually get a tasty and well-prepared incarnation of the dish are miniscule. 99% of breaded meat dishes suck.

Ironically, the Cordon Bleu sandwich was one of the handful of things on the menu that wasn't deep fried. I figured that you really can't fuck up a slice of ham, a grilled chicken breast, and a piece of swiss cheese.

Boy, was I wrong.

They're following their training. Soups are to be served first, and further courses aren't to be brought out until after the guest has finished what is in front of them. If you want servers to bring courses out as they are ready, you are supposed to say so.

We're talking about soups that are ordered with the main meal. We have this one bartender who either never comes to run her food or puts a ticket in and disappears for a half a hour. She comes back to the window literally 20 minutes after her food comes up and demands refires because for whatever insane reason, her food's cold.

I understand how the process of serving works well enough to know that if you put in an appetizer for soup and it takes 10 seconds for someone to pour a bowl of soup and make the setup for it, you shouldn't disappear for 10 minutes, come back to find all of your food is up (including your cold appetizer, since you were such a stupid bitch that you put the entree ticket in at the same time as the appetizer), and then throw a pissy fit about something that is 300% your fault.

What are your thoughts on tipping in general?

It's a shill for refusal to pay living wage.

When I waited tables, I made more money than the people in the restaurant who were being paid a real hourly wage/salary, including a few of the managers. I was in the Navy for almost five years before I made more money in the military than I did humping food to tables. If it's a scam designed to keep someone from paying someone else, I'm fine with it, because as the person who was allegedly being screwed, I was doing pretty well for myself.

Fucker, beat me to it by a day and a half. I came in expecting to post this and the first thing I notice as I scroll down is that goddamn video.

Fast-food places that don't deliver: I don't tip, seeing as how 1) most fast food workers are horrendously incompetent and 2) fast food salary is, from what I understand, above minimum wage, which means that tipping isn't justified.

Delivery restaurants: A typical pizza order usually gets a $2 tip on principle, though larger orders make me bust out my percentages. Other delivery places always get percentage-based tips, though.

Shops (convenience stores, ice cream parlors, etc.) with tip jars: If the service was above-average and the employee was pleasant, I'll throw in my spare change. And if the worker is absolutely amazing---this usually only applies to, like, ice cream shops---I'll occasionally throw in an extra single or two.

Small restaurants/diners: 15% is my standard. Mediocre service results in a 10% tip, poor service results in no tip and great service warrants 20%. I've had a small handful of servers get 25% because they were so fantastic, though. But it's really just a matter of disposition on both sides.

Larger, fancier restaurants: 10% is my baseline, seeing as how the employees are making so much from tips anyway. If the service is above average, it goes up to 15%. If the service is phenomenal, 20%. And if I get a handjob under the table from the waitress while she screams into my ear the lyrics to Whitesnake's "In the Still of the Night," 25%.

No, just the ones that do their job without a shitty fucking attitude and behave like they're actually there to take care of the people coming in to eat. I can totally understand how the slackers and whiners probably get screwed.
