was on an AF base in DC... the building i was in was moving for like 30 seconds, I was able to just exit right outside as I was about to leave and all the street lights were still moving.. first thing I did was look up to make sure nothing was going to fall on me(I was in an auditorium).

first thought that goes through your head when you're on a base in an area that isn't known to have earthquakes and you hear a loud noise and can't move for a few seconds... "BOMB?.... ok not a bomb... wtf" lol

and then I remembered hey this happens in Azeroth all the time nowadays and now I'm going to log on bai bai

Because the only thing Chicago has going for it will be the nuke.

Anyway. Quakes on the east coast are noteworthy because you can feel it over long distances. New Madrid quake rang church bells in Boston. That's overdue, anyway.

Tweets I lol'd at...

@comradescott: Evidently the quake occurred on a little known fault line outside of DC called "Bush's Fault". #tcot #p2

@calebhowe: Breaking: Obama administration points out they "inherited" fault lines from previous administrations.

@MaizeBlueNation: Fox News claims the Washington monument is leaning to the right, MSNBC claims it's leaning to the left. More news at 11.

How much longer do we have to wait?

Are you implying that Chicago will be nuked? I knew I decided to live way too close to Canada!

We just felt one of the after-shocks here at the house. USGS is saying it was a 4.2... very light vibration with a really low growl.

I'm at the yellow star.

Sitting in the basement about 40 feet down on Penn Ave., there wasn't much. I sat in my wheely chair in the middle of my cube and let it roll back and forth the couple inches it was going to. Then they threw the fire alarm and everyone evacuated. Too bad too, I was about to get up and walk across the street for a meeting on the 8th floor, would've been more interesting that what I got.

Followed by going to Metro Center and standing around for an hour.

I'm in this picture somewhere, but it's too damn blury

A friend of mine in DC sent me this footage of the quake hitting down there. Pretty cool, it certainly didn't feel this strong in Massachusetts...

The black guy looks taller than the rest, but he (and the white guy and girl near him) are standing on a short wall. If you look behind him, you'll see some people sitting on it (with their backs facing the camera).
