EA is just ridiculous, honestly.

who specifically takes a backstep and downgrades the features in a game they've been building for years, and then releases it along the same time as another similar game that is at least staying good, if not improving?

COD? improving?

downhill since WAW.

If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

Grats on furry racial mounts/basically human mounts with a new color scheme and another 5 or so mounts for Aestu to add to his list.

Two - not five, fyi, goblins only have two and there are only two SSes in that post - more mounts off a vendor in a game I don't see myself as committed to anymore is nothing.

I just plain and simple don't care.

People probably assumed I was one of the QQers bitching about furry not having mounts, the truth was, although I recognized the real issue was the laziness of the devs and the lack of imagination of the lore/graphics artists, I honestly didn't see it as a problem, and in a way I thought it was a good thing, because one faction with no mounts makes the game less homogenized.

I didn't care then and I don't care now.

Blizzard proves again their stupidity by pandering to the masses "QQ game sux horde get two more mounts" as if that's what's wrong with the game or as if ANYONE, EVER, cancelled sub because of faction mount count imbalance. The height of stupidity is (and corroborated by the responses in the thread) that Blizzard is likely going to drive MORE people to quit with this lazy "fix". Better to have done nothing.

But now Blizzard devs/CMs will just say "You see, you just can't please the playerbase." No, the problem is you suck. Sorry!

PS: If Blizzard was really clever, they'd have given the furry mules, draft horses or ponies - which would suit their Victorian theme.

Quote:
Interviews: Warcraft After Cataclysm
Tom Chilton and Greg Street have been making the rounds again with interviews on IGN and Gamasutra.

Patch 4.3
If you add up all of the Deathwing encounter stages, it will be the longest fight in the game.
Each stage of the fight will take place in a different location and offer some loot.
The encounter starts at Wyrmrest Temple, progressing toward the players being on Deathwing's back while he is flying toward The Maelstrom.
The new five man encounters will build up to the Deathwing fight, similar to how the Icecrown five man instances built up to the Lich King.
To combat the complaints of armor always looking the same, there is a sub-lead who is in charge of guiding the art team to produce new styles not found in the game yet.

After Cataclysm
More armor customization could be coming in the future; Transmogrification was a solution that could be finished in time for Patch 4.3.
After Patch 4.3, and the world event, the team is going to focus on keeping players entertained and enjoying the game.
There are more people that played World of Warcraft, but no longer play World of Warcraft, than the number of people that currently play World of Warcraft. They want to lower the barrier to entry and find some way to bring back players that no longer play.
On Mists of Pandaria: "Most of the time when we do anything panda-related it's going to be a comic book or a figurine or something like that."
They realize some people quit because they made the content more accessible to everyone and it no longer felt elite.
Raids are significantly harder than they were in WotLK, but the rewards are not much better than heroic five man rewards. This causes a lack of motivation to raid.
They believe that each spec plays like a separate class, making the game feel as if there are 30 classes.
Player created content is still in the back of their minds because of how well it worked in Starcraft II. Developing tools for players would take a lot of work, but the reward would be great as well.

My belief is that the next expansion will probably return to the world of TBC and include player housing in Shattrath. They will pull the same bait-and-switch they did with difficulty in Cata, and it will turn out the same way which is that some people will renew sub for a month or two, catch on, get bored, and leave.

What makes me think that they are alluding to player housing is that people have been asking for it for a long time, and lately the dev team's strategy is to pull every mothballed suggestion out of the closet whether it's a good idea or not. Player housing, I really have no opinion, and I can't even imagine what it would be like in the context of WoW.

I'm not sure they'll ever do player housing. guild housing would go first, i'd imagine.

Player Housing would be the same thing as it was in Runescape. It was just another skill (Construction) that served as mostly nothing but a money sink. The few things it did offer was a dueling ring and a prayer altar since leveling prayer on RS is holy fuck why so hard and long.

wow could use a serious money sink though not just one shot money sinks like mounts.

And prayer training wasn't that hard, just insanely expensive :P

Aestu returns to her home town of Shattrath, and passes her time cooking, gardening, writing to the editor of local periodicals, attending services at the Aldori temple, and staying in touch with her Scryer friends - after all, her heroism was recognized by all the citizens of the city. squidgoat live a long time, and they do not suffer from old age. Aestu maintained an active life in every sense, occasionally mentoring new paladins of all races - her counsel was sought by the novices of Azeroth as well - but she never again left the quiet of the city or raised her sword.

Zeida the dwarf priest gets a job as an accountant at a supply store in Ironforge, less out of a need for money and more to assuage her worrisome and compulsive nature. She becomes both more cantankerous and more warm-hearted in her old age, and gives young children cookies, milk, and sharp words.

Iostu the squidgoat deathknight: With her revenge against the Lich King complete, and finding neither joy nor purpose in her undeath, she is last seen wandering into the Coldarra wilds. Some say she was accepted by the Blue Dragonflight. Others say she commited suicide by exposure. But mostly, she was simply forgotten.

Mieto the squidgoat shaman, younger and more dynamic than the others, moves on with her frenzied life, becoming a dancer and playwright with a highly active love life. She also gets involved in the futures market, particularly firefin snapper, lightning eel, thorium and sandstone, as well as real estate on both worlds. A few decades later she is indicted for tax evasion, slave trading, and bloodthistle dealing (no one except her knows the truth of the matter), and goes underground. Although never again seen in public, rumors of her innocence and guilt, and of her continued dealings, romantic, financial, and otherwise, persist.

Farbe the gnome warlock becomes increasingly eccentric and debased. She takes up residence in the tower on Purgation Isle and taps the energies of the place to lure, bewitch and enslave handsome young men. After several hundred years, she is strangled to death by a mob, her corpse mutilated and dismembered.

Xuria, Aestu's transporter duplicate, suffers an existential crisis, paranoid schizophrenia, and finally perishes in a hail of bullets two years later.

Jinke, Aestu's night elf warrior "retainer", long bitter at her status, takes night (er, day) classes, and becomes a partner at a prominent law firm. Harboring a grudge towards her former master, she sells her collections of books, scarabs, and assorted curios to a vendor for coppers per gold. Aestu learns of this, and mails the night elf a half-eaten chocolate chip cookie.
