Did you actually play the tcg?
I personally did - I went to a tourney a while back for a chance at a mount card. Didn't get it.
The game plays exactly like a hybrid between Magic and Pokemon, with dramatically simplifier rules than either. The game is much more luck-dependent than Magic or Pokemon, because winning or losing basically boils down to when and whether you draw your best character cards. Skill is far less important luck in WoW TCG.
The game is also much faster paced (and therefore less skill-based) because unlike in Magic, characters do not heal at the end of a turn, so life expectancy is short. There are far fewer indirect effects than in Magic, more creatures are basic, and indirect effects in general are simpler and more straightforward.
It's a boring game.
