I think it's in bad taste, to be sure. I do agree that kind of graphical language is not suitable for a product directed at well-adjusted children.

The problem isn't that they're conservative or liberals... the problem is they're women getting all worked up and they're stupid. Probably a bunch of stupid stay-at-home moms with nothing better to do than ruin everyone's fun.

Looking at their website, it's M.A.D.D. for every damn thing. They rage about TV commercials, TV shows, advertisements and whatever else might be 'offensive' to them. They do it to 'protect' their kids but I'm pretty sure they do it because they can't parent properly. Sick of your kid seeing TV commercials on TV - Don't let your kid watch what you're watching on TV. Problem solved. But no, that's too hard... instead they set up a website and encourage other bored mothers to clog peoples inbox with shit that no one cares about.

What message are they sending our kids that are even old enough to understand? To practice safe sex? God forbid. Not like, by the time a kid would understand what is happening in this commercial, the kid isn't already having sex. Sounds like this commercial is doing a lot more parenting than you are.

Okay, Superbowl Commercials. The Pepsi one, while it is kind of bad he is saying he wants to sleep with her, maybe, just MAYBE he just wanted to sleep (zzzz) with her. Eitherway, is that better or worse than the girl's first thought being "I wonder how much money he makes". Are you saying it's not okay to be physically attracted to someone but it's okay to be attracted to someone's money or physical possesions? Well played.

I agree with both sides. Yes these are bad moms who want to nitpick and blame society for their failings, but they are also correct that society and mass media today are way too crass.

Eturnal's assessment is right on. They just plain suck at parenting. I'd like to know the average rate of divorce of the membership.

However the truth is, the problem is larger than individual adverts; their approach of spewing vitrol over random adverts isn't going to solve the problem, just contribute to political noise; and perhaps most importantly, they offer no real ideological alternative to mass consumerism.

They're just a flock of bullies picking on things they don't like and by only sheer numbers are they able to ever force any one's hand.

They suck at parenting. Some of the fights they picked were okay but most were just dumb.

One side of the fence you have a world where everything is rainbows and sunshine while at the same time the real world is nothing like that.

and on the other side, you have one where the real world is put in broad daylight for all to see and hear and smell.

People would rather bury their heads in the sand and pretend sex toys and drugs and porn and swearing don't really exist while at the same time try to control it and keep it away from the minds of young children who will eventually, probabaly much sooner than parents would like, be exposed to in one form or another.

It's the whole video games going to far arguement all over again. Really we need to decide where the limits are and set them. Then execute violators regardless of loopholes.

Define a perfect world. Such a place does not exist for never will their exist a place where everyone can be truly happy.

tldr: I'm sick and taking it out on my keyboard. That's what happens when I'm sick. Shit like this post and this thread.

The problem is that our world is not a fixed thing and does not exist in a vacuum. Cause and effect are not so discrete.
