So next tuesday I'm headed to the nasty natti to meet up with my company's CPA. I'm going to be taking him out to dinner (on the company card cha-ching!). My question is, what are some great restaurants to eat at in Cinci?

What I'm looking for:

-Business Casual (not a dressy stuffy place)
-Not too too pricey, but still pretty nice with good food
-I really like steak
-Good wine/drinks
-Something downtown might be cool

Anyway, suggestions??

I lived in Columbus, Ohio for 8 years, so I've had skyline chili. TBH, I think it is terrible. The whole cinnamon in the chili thing, and the noodles...it's just yuck for me.

I like my chili in a bowl, no weird flavors added...maybe some crackers on the side, and some cheese melted on top.

Rock Bottom Grill is probably your best bet. They brew all of their beer in-house (and I haven't had a bad one, tbh) and their food is pretty damn good. I almost exclusively get seafood when I go out, so I can't tell you about their steaks, but their lobster and shrimp tacos are probably the best things on the menu.

Its also right in the middle of Fountain Square, which is the heart of downtown and its a great atmosphere.

PS: If you want to have good cincinnati chili and you're in town for more than a day, I'll meet you up at Camp Washington if you want.

PPS: Don't go to Hofbrauhaus. Apparently due to having 8 or 10 assaults on the peremisis in the past 5 years or so, the state of Kentucky took their liquor license away for 50 days (starting about 2 weeks ago).

EDIT: There's also a bunch of fancier restaurants in the same area. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend.

Why does a place in Ohio have a Kentucky liquor license?

Because Hofbrauhaus is in Kentucky.

EDIT: For those of you who aren't aware of Cincinnati's geography, its right on the Ohio river, which serves as the Ohio/Kentucky border. Newport (where Hofbrauhaus is) is on the other side of the river from Cincinnati and is basically a collection of bars where everyone from Cincinnati goes to party on the weekends (you can smoke indoors and there's no sin tax in KY).

That Rock Bottom place looks pretty awesome. I just suggested it to my CPA, hopefully he is down so I can get us a reservation.

Unfortunately It's a one night trip, but next time I'm in town we should definitely get some Chili. It makes sense that the mass-produced, fast food Skyline Chili isn't nearly as good as some local place would be. So I'm still open to it.

I'm actually staying in a hotel by the airport....in Kentucky haha

well no shit, you buy the skyline from the store, you have to go the original restaurant, my dad has the original recipe he worked there for a day to get it then quit and its amazing, and tastes nothing like the crap you can buy at grocery stores

You know, this is actually a fantastic idea. Too bad that they probably have their chili made in a factory and shipped to locations now.

Yeah I'm not talking about getting some pre-packaged stuff at the store.

The "chili" this place served was horrendous. There's got to be something better at a mom and pop place in Cinci.

Handicapped parking indeed.
