I'm not getting a vaccine either. I will continue with my superb defense against infections that's already been implemented and proven effective.

I'll remain a shut-in.

I quit getting vaccinations after I left the military. I saw a very big correlation to "get the shot, stay mildly-to-generally ill all winter; don't get the shot, be just fine." My immune system works best without any help.

Good to remind those that do use them with no issues, though, Fant.

I agree with this, I refuse to get the flu vaccine.

I've never gotten a flu vaccine.

the two times i've had the flu i've only been down for like a week or so total. no big.

My immune system is pretty badass as it stands. Generally when I get sick my tonsils get fucked up and I have sinus issues for about a week.

That happens 0-2 times a year.

Now you are making me do research on whether or not to get it. Which is much harder than it should be considering the huge number of conspiracy groups as well as lack of specificity on legitimate websites.

I dunno I'm undecided at the moment.

There's a lot of "me's" and "I's" in this thread. But you guys have to realize that even if it doesn't infect YOU, you are still carrying and producing the virus and inadvertently spreading it through simple interpersonal exchange. Will explain how this works upon request.

I'm surprised to see that many of you aren't going to get it, to be honest. I know that most of you have to pay for it, but it really isn't that expensive and is well worth it. You really cannot get sick from the vaccine and any correlation between the two is mere coincidence.

I'm not trying to put more money into pharmaceutical companies or anything. I also love you guys. I want you to be healthy and not contribute to spreading this annoying virus. It will never be extinct, but at least it will stop mattering so much every winter.

Hmm so if I just carry the virus but don't get sick from it, and happen to pass it on to someone else...this is a problem?

I fail to see my motivation for vaccinating myself if I won't get sick from it.


If I get someone else sick without any personal symptoms, it's just my immune system exerting its superiority over theirs.

let the people that actually get sick get the shot.

its a waste of my time.

I don't spend much time around old, feeble, injured, very young, or ill people, so I don't see the point. Again, it also makes me feel like a piece of shit.

Well, if you are carrying it, you are producing it too. It just so happens that your body can fend it off up until a certain threshold. Everybody's threshold is different. If you are vaccinated, however, the virus cannot enter your cells and therefore cannot reproduce. If you really want to think about you an only you, THINK OF YOUR CELLS!!!!!!

EDIT: I know I can't convince those of you who have already made up your mind, but I hope to at least make you think about it. One step at a time!
