I always understood "PVP guilds" as "we can't do fuckall else" guilds. The only (rare) exceptions are those who are just a collection of homos, like all of the incarnations of <Qaz Drives a Go Kart>.

I think a lot of those guilds end up that way, but there are plenty of talented people who just don't care to pve.

I disagree that the notion that having a PvP oriented guild means you can't accomplish anything worthwhile. That is an obnoxious and arrogant way of thinking.

What do you define as worthwhile? Participating in PvE? Downing every encounter in a given raid before the nerfs? Downing every encounter in a given raid after the nerfs? Pursuing server firsts? Pursuing world firsts?


You see what I'm getting at. Everyone has different goals and points of enjoyment in the games they play. Do you think top 50 world guilds give a shit what any guild on Bleeding Hollow has accomplished?

I think a One Guild, Two Divisions approach would work best if we are going to be somewhat inclusive. FUBU has a variety of posters who enjoy different aspects of games TO different and varying degrees of activeness.

Before this thread derails, maybe we should have a split for a PvE vs PvP shitfest.

This is basically 99% correct. The only exceptions that come readily to mind are Team Awesome (which eventually started PvEing and merged with the kings of PvE on BH) and Exlint Gentlemen, which was during BC when PvP got you better gear than PvE.

If destruction exists, we must destroy everything.

Good PvPers typically excell at PvE. Least this was the case pre-Cata. I still excell at PvE any time I've done it.

Also, my guild actually is a PvP guild and we got shit done in lolWrath. However, they are all terrible at PvP with few exceptions nor very good at PvE (hence lack of Cata raiding) so I don't think they really count.



p.s. looking for hordeside raiding guild, pst. I even started grinding PvE gear incase 50% PvP gear, 50% blue PvE gear isn't enough anymore.

You know though, to be fair, a lot of PvE guilds don't really do fuck all else either.
