So Hellfire strikes are permitted on Americans abroad if they plan on hurting Americans though a terrorist organization? Would it be fine to launch Hellfires on Americans here in the states if they're members of a domestic terrorist organization that intends to harm other Americans. Had we launched missiles on the Weather Underground, Black Liberation Army, KKK or any of these animal/green based eco-terrorist groups then would that be different because it's within our country? Why is locality (of being in another country) and a member of Al Qaeda (which is a terrorist organization) somehow the magic variables that make the targeted killing of an American citizen legitimate. Remember that there is already a line drawn in the sand for situations like this and it's the 6th Amendment.

He's a bad guy... I get that and I'm glad the fucker is dead... but it's easy to say, "Fuck his right to a trial" but we'd be screaming and crying for our own right to a trial if the government said we were connected with some terror plot, their conspirators or even identified as terrorists ourselves - rightly or not. "But that would NEVER happen!" Say that to the hundreds of thousands of false-positives that have been flagged for having near-matching names as those on the 'Do Not Fly' list or the tens of thousands that have been falsely put on the terrorist watch list (only to be removed later). If we let the government identify Americans as threats and then subsequently attack and kill them rather than trying them in the courts then we're on the course to give up our own rights to a trial. That's a dangerous, slippery slope to be playing on. If anything, it might put Tuhl out of work in the future and then he'll have to master forklifts with Jubber.

He should have been tried unless he posed an immediate danger. If the rights we guarantee aren't applicable to every citizen, then the rights are no guarantee for any citizen.

American citizen in Yemen (I think) who can easily be assumed to be working with terrorists was assassinated in his vehicle by the U.S.

IIRC there was another American citizen in the car with him who ended up dying but has no ties with terror plots.

Wish I knew the fellow's name so I could find info easy.

I've never hung out with crazy durkadurk terrorists, and I've never been missile'd either. I'm sure it's just a coincidence though.

How well do you know Eturnal? Enough to know with absolute certainty he's not plotting a serious terrorist attack? Of course you don't know that. If the government comes and kills him, along with you and Jubber, at your next soggy cracker get together does that mean you're a terrorist as well? Does that make your death totally justifiable?

The people who were around him likely knew what he did, but that doesn't make them guilty of anything but choosing bad tennis partners, which isn't a crime punishable by murder.

If it was a public statement that he was going to leave here and join the taliban or whatever there, that sounds like a formal renouncement of his citizenship.
