No one sued Digimon, which I assume is identical. Suing over game genre types, assuming there's even a patent on that, is stupidly difficult to win on. Infringement can be avoided with the most minor of tweaks, and in this case it'd just straight up be superseded by prior art. Plus, no one's gonna sue Blizzard (especially with the backing of Activision's legal team, which is likely even more impressive than Blizzard's).

I actually am completely satisfied with MoP, no other expansion added as much content as this. If you ask me, the other expansions were a joke.

Just thought I'd mention this, about the Annual Pass.

You don't pay anymore, or any less. You don't pay a bulk fee up front. Your account just becomes a contract, like a cell phone, and is still monthly. It was a no-brainer for me, I've been subscribed for 6 years strait anyway. Thanks for the free game Blizzard.

And to everyone arguing about Lore, get a grip, Chris made it all up anyway. Every author makes shit up. Ever heard of a "series" of books? Pandarian aren't any different than any other idea for a race.

The fact that they actually don't allow you to pay up front (which would have the benefit to Blizzard of being able to turn the money over and defeat inflation) suggests to me they intend to engage in fraudulent billing. As does the fact they refuse to take PayPal.

If the price just HAS to go up, I hope those that did sign up for the annual pass will still just be able to pay the standard $14.99 (at least until that year is up).

They don't need to be jackasses and do anything extra with this; it's a positive and profitable thing for them (WoW-wise) as is.

Plus, the $50 price tag for Diablo 3 isn't going to rake in anything even remotely comparable to what they'll be reaping from the real money auction house, and god damn did they probably just increase the amount of people who will be using that by a lot.

Keepin' the glass half full.

EDIT: If anything, I'm thinking all the worry belongs to the Starcraft community; they're not pulling their weight as far as Blizzard's wallet stuffing goes.

I woke up with a quasi-hangover to see the Pandarin advertisement.... I almost instictively looked at my calendar but realized ok its definitely NOT APRIL 1st...

then it hit me... finally..

we have Blizzard's official response for THE OLD REPUBLIC. This is it folks. The one year commit is to deter losses to the SWTOR, while also provide "content"..

the Diablo III card almost has me about to do it even though I'm still going to play SWTOR (or at least try it out)
