so in dota2 are mages actually worth having on your team or does the game blatently favour physical damage dealers like LoL?

AD carry isn't that much better than AP. Look at Kog'maw.

Or if we're talking pure casters, Karthus and Xerath.

AD can build for survival without losing much damage, ap on the other hand.
