are you supporting drinking and driving?
My grandmother was killed in an accident caused by a drunk driver.
My youngest brother nearly lost his leg from the knee down after being pinned between his car and the car of the drunk that hit him.
That said, I think DUI/DWI laws are excessive, and the idea that you should have 0.00 BAC while driving is ridiculous. This is especially true considering that DUI/DWI laws appear to be more about funneling money to municipalities, insurance companies, and lawyers than they are about actually keeping drunk drivers off the road. I knew a guy when I lived in FL that had been convicted of DUI
six times. Every time he had his license back in six months or less because he could plead hardship since he owned his own business and required the ability to drive in order to run it. This is basically a set of laws encouraged by local governments, the insurance industry, and lawyers that is easily passed because there is a lobby of vindictive harpies (M.A.D.D.) that supports it and no one wants to say that they think driving drunk is OK (because it isn't), but like many things the devil is in the details, and because of the parties chiefly involved, we allow the system to be hijacked without respect to the differences between driving drunk and driving after having drank.
