ignoring the PC master race argument, i just find it hard to drool over a studio like bethesda anyways.

the games been available for a while, and there are some hilarious glitches/bugs within the first 15 minutes of gameplay. these aren't "oh whoops, something went wrong", the shit with people falling through the terrain, or floating around, happens in a SCRIPTED event.

i realize this doesn't take away from a games gameplay, but it's pretty fucking sad. it's one thing if it's something out in the world, due to how much shit is in the game. it's another for your scripted event with 0 player involvement to not even look the way it's supposed to, or have the games saves just randomly corrupt.

it's alright, even with reviewers telling you "WHOOPS, YOU MIGHT LOSE 15 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY", it still gets 10/10s across the board.


i'm going to try it anyways, but considering every stream shown for the past week or so has made combat look less involving then fucking minecraft's combat of all things, i can't say i'll enjoy it. not to mention according to the fanbase, bethesda games aren't worth playing til 6 months later after the mod community has fixed everything wrong with it.

I remember reading reviews where people said that Dragon Age 2 was the game of the decade. Needless to say, I don't read review sites anymore (with the exception to that guy who does the videos that was shoes's avatar).

EDIT: Dan's getting it mailed from Amazon and its supposed to arrive tomorrow. I'll watch him play it for a bit and make an informed decision as to pirate it or not. I'm not blowing $60 on the company who's last major releases were Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

Might download but tbh I never even really heard of these games before. I think the only thing I know about Elder Scrolls was my neighbor had this total douche friend that would play it on XBOX. And I got bored instantly, then again I was just watching so...

oblivion was dicks. fallout 3 was worse.

At least Fallout 3 had a menu that was in English. Whatever the hell that Oblivion menu was is why I couldn't get past the first Oblivion portal.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the skills system in Oblivion was also pants-on-head retarded. IDK how I got through it in Morrowind.

it's really good (and fucking gorgeous)

spent the past ~4 hours just exploring and dying. a lot. giants are fucking impossible to kill before they smash your face in also, getting lost in a snow storm was... really fun? my window was open as well and i had a freezing breeze blowing into my room, which helped the immersion, lol.

it was incredibly satisfying to boot the game up for the first time and see it say 'game set to ULTRA HIGH SETTINGS'.

I didn't customize my character at all really. I don't find the menus in this game as responsive as i'd like. It's like i click but nothing happens, so i quickly decided i'd have enough of character customization in Skyrim for one day. Dunno what the deal is there tbh.

environment is definitely good, textures are making me laugh so hard though.

it can't only just be me, other people i know are saying it too. shit looks good from a few feet away, but if you get close it just turns into a blurry mess.

why the fuck doesn't my mouse work in almost every menu?
