So in your opinion all cops and soldiers are cowards?
So in your opinion all Qaeda are evil America-haters? I guess if ten guys invaded your house, and one of them raped your woman and two others stole your stuff, whil the other seven chatted it up, I could say, "Well, you're
generalizing about those ten dudes. Maybe they're not
all bad people.

You are aware these are people who face the threat of being shot on a daily basis, right?
Everyone who drives a truck down I-80 faces the threat of a pile-up every day.
Facing death is easy if you don't put a very high price on life in the first place. Through history there have always been thugs, cowards, and various other bad people who have been willing to kill and get killed who were anything but heroic. Do you think that West African pirates and people who fought for Saddam were heroes because they put themselves in harm's way?
Cops take every precaution against getting scratched and make a big fuss whenever one of their own gets killed, holding up traffic with a big funeral just to remind us that they sometimes do die no matter how much they put the safety of others at risk for their own cowardice.

You were just taking out the trash and a mean-ole cop came up to you and started oppressing you? And you what, said "stop oppressing me!" and he was like "whoa, this Ethan guy knows his shit...he's way too hardcore for me"
Is this pretty close to the exchange you had with the police officer?
Pretty much. Right, I forgot, anyone who isn't you who is treated unjustly must have done something wrong. Which of us has the problem with social identity?
