Pretty pathetic how some people will really just attempt to shake businesses and individuals down for money over just about everything.

So it passes to the employees - who won't be financially liable - to do all that can be done to mitigate risk.

I can't remember the last time someone ever put a gun to my head and said 'You need to eat here or I'll fucking paint the wall with your liquified brain matter and if you have a food allergy, tough shit.'

You're right. The customer is, after all, always right. Back to square one and why employee diligence is necessary.

Actually, the customer is almost always wrong. I know what you're trying to say though. You possibly misunderstood him though (or maybe I did), he was saying that if you have allergies then no one is forcing you to eat somewhere they have food you're allergic to. Places that specialize in peanuts or nuts in general don't go under because of the lack of customers.

You remind me of that bro who had snack time canceled for the entire school because some little girl was allergic to peanuts.

Also ranting on my phine so hard to see if this makes sense

I remember that thread. As I recall, I argued that person was a hypochondriac.

But you see, that's the point. Not that it's rational. But that there are people like that out there and policy must reflect that. Right or wrong.

People with food allergies should be used to taking care of themselves. I live around a lot of busy streets and I'm used to looking both ways. I mean there are crosswalks and stoplights but there's always the chance some asshole will run the light and bam you're dead. If you depend wholly on the system to protect you and don't keep your own eye out for trouble, you'll eventually eat a peanut or get hit by a car, and then it won't matter whose fault it is.

People with food allergies should be bred out.

Can we count vegans and vegetarians in that category?

Hey my sister is a vegetarian!

Really I love steak, and burgers, and chicken, and other meats way too much to ever be a vegetarian.

Though I agree that our society probably consumes too much meat....I don't think the solution is to not eat meat altogether.

I'm curious Zaryi, do most chefs/people in culinary school think vegetarian's and vegans are jerks?

More like, most chefs/cooks regard them with scorn than think they're jerks, lol.

Vegans, yes. Vegetarians, no.

There's few things I take greater joy in than tearing down the whole "I don't eat meat because its unethical" train of bullshit.

Agreed. But what about vegetarians that do it for health reasons? Though I don't do it personally...my sister's husband had high blood pressure, and they completely changed their diets (eliminating most dairy and meat products). His blood pressure has since plummeted to healthy levels. They claim they have more energy etc etc

That's a legitimate reason. Doing it because you feel for the animals is horsecock.
