The prior internet generation was brought in from AOL subscriptions, and everyone else used ICQ until AOL opened up the messenger. IRC doesn't really count.

I hate when I text or e-mail people and they NEVER reply. I can understand not dropping everything to reply immediately, but when you don't reply at all, it just tells me how little you value my relationship with you. I especially hate it when it's people who do the whole, "oh, you're really great, we need to hang out sometimes" bit every time you see them.

i especially hate this when it's someone you KNOW is glued to their phone 24/7. my friend's phone literally never leaves her hand except for probably to shower (though it's still prolly in the room) and it'll sometimes take her ages to respond, days sometimes.

sometimes though, i get a text and respond in my head or mean to respond (sometimes even think I did) and then realize later I didn't. i usually at least explain this shit though.

I dunno I couldn't even tell a girl love you too on AIM when one of us were signing off. This was back in JHS though and MAYBE I was just smart enough to know it wasnt love...

this was said before, but seriously this is 2011...my peeve is when people take forever to respond as if their phone isn't close by or checked within each hr of their waking moment.
