The plural of "syllable" is "syllables".

The meetings usually have about a half hour of necessary business, such as informing people of changes and a Q&A session. The rest is usually just filled with anecdotes of individual experiences in the reading room or with the radiologist. Everyone seems to have a good time, and if I could help it I'd only schedule the meetings when we have a decent amount to go over. But corporate says to have them once a month, so once a month I shall have them... boo...

When I was a pseudo-manager, we (the other manager and I) tried to get corporate to abandon the idea of monthly meetings, but it was a no-go..

Bluntly, the purpose of meetings is not to be your social outlet, and since people are dipping them they obviously disagree with you. I'm not saying you should run your meetings like Aestu pugs, I'm just saying that you shouldn't take it for granted that people share your zest for meetings and you should treat them as a necessary evil.

Once a month is pretty marginal, though. That's not asking too much from anyone, but I do think that you should distribute minutes if that will fulfill the informational objective. Why insist on the pointless?
