So, if I were to get serious about some sleeves, which would be the best to get?

It's looking like KMC or Player's Choice. I've heard only good things about KMC.

Also thinking about maybe getting one of these because they look nice.

Both of them look fine and seem about the same specification - they're what you should be looking for. Just be sure you're ready to commit to standardizing to one or the other...so I would choose whichever you can buy most easily near you. Mixing sleeve types doesn't work.

The boxes look nice. But I'd be inclined towards something unique and not mass produced.

Good places to find unique card vessels:
-Thrift stores and flea markets (the more low-class the better, you get more unique/old/interesting stuff)
-Supply stores for old music equipment and obsolete computer hardware ('80s PCs/SFX gear often shipped with interesting containers)
-Native American reservations and museums
-Cigar stores
-Small casinos
-Gift stores at national parks and other places selling handmade chachkas

White is by far my strongest deck. It's a soldier tribal, as I'm partial to tribal decks. Please don't say that those boxes fit exactly 60 cards, I hate those kinda of boxes..

I just liked the look of them, more so the green one and the white one (my main deck is green/white).

I'm always on the look out for unique things to card them in however. I was using a small shiney gift box I bought from Dollar Tree. I would sit it on the table and people would ask what was in the box. "The gift of defeat.".

I bought some nice wooden cigar boxes to hold little odds and ends. I also have a Long John Silver's Treasure Box deal and a Wooden Replica of a Treasure Chest.

I lost the box I made somewherere.

If I can find something neat that I like that's durable yet practical to use as a deck box, I shall.

Leatherette material with debossed Magic Mana Symbol art and logos
Strong magnet for secure closure - Soft inner lining to keep from scratching cards

So it could hold a commander deck as well.

I was thinking about getting a side loading deck box but didn't see one I liked.

I tend to go for clear/transparent boxes/sleeves because I prefer to see the card and not some goofy image.

This is basically my main deck.

Not standard as far as I know but it has like 2 in the whole deck and does fairly well. I'm still playing around with the lands but thus far it's been really fun.

Ultra Pro

Image

I've had this case for... about 6-7 years. I found it about a month ago smushed under my car seat. Every card is just fine.

If not Ultra Pro, get something with a strong, but flexible plastic. There are some (usually clear and don't look anything like my case there) that are made of a harder plastic that tends to chip/crack/break when dropped. They also sometimes have hinges with small parts that knock loose too. These are made of 1 molded piece of plastic. You literally fold the plastic to open it, which sounds crummy, but that case was opened and closed a stupid number of times over ~3 years. The only non-plastic part is the Velcro that keeps it closed, and that still works well too, albeit the Velcro looks like a thin cotton ball when open.

I generally had one deck that I played with at a time, so I only have one case like this. If you decide to have multiple decks, you can do what Meowth did, and buy a small metal CD suitcase deal. He'd fit like 4-5 decks and some small trade books in his, and it was roughly a 14" square.

Also, pretty cases probably aren't as well made, and most certainly detract from you manliness.

I have three of the cases like that. Most of my decks aren't sleeved and when they are I like to use penny sleeves. On the topic of boxes, my friend has some that have no velcro or anything and hold themself shut with physics. They're pretty cool.

I use these little waterproof tuperware things they are a tad bigger around then cards are, big enough to hold my deck / swapins as well as dice and counters if desired. I picked them up because me and my friends used to play when we went camping/ice fishing and stuff and I didn't want to risk them getting wet and I got them like 7-8 years ago and they are still in tip top shape.

PS: Is magic still fun ? Last time I had a magic phase was like 7th edition or something and then they started super simplifying it(not enough quotes and the rules right on the cards felt way pokemon to me :( )

You mean instead of it saying "This card cannot be blocked except by black creatures and by artifact creatures" they reduced it to a single keyword of Fear (Intimidate)? They introduced 'Mythic Rare' cards which are retardedly OP and can make the game play incredibly fast. But the only thing that has really changed is how the stack works so you can no longer do stupid stuff that should never have been possible to begin with.

I use them too. I get them cheap at Chinese supermarkets. They're a little off-size though, as you noted, which isn't good.

The protection they provide, however, is unsurpassed.

Did they change the LIFO rule? That sounds just like dumbing down the fast effect metagame, tbh.

"Fear" etc is lame homogenization. Mythic Rare / Ultra Rare crap etc is just a way of making people burn through huge wads of cash on boosters and favoring the hardest of core. Elder Dragon Legends were cool and rare but not that powerful. I don't like these superpowerful creatures in the latest expansions. Just seems lame.

The way the game was balanced in Mirage/Ice Age/Invasion was how it ought to be. A lot of good, solid Uncommon cards, with strong fast effects and small creatures. Encourages creativity and dynamic, casual play.

Yea 5th edition / mirage was when I was big into into the game and casual games were the most fun to me, restricting games to certain sets made it kinda boring to me. My fav card would have to be my

just because it was fun to mess with people, but then it got to the point where every color could blow up artifacts : [
I also had this blue world enchantment that was a lot of fun when they had that all artifact set, gave all artifacts in play a Cumulative Upkeep of one. Was pretty funny to give peoples lands an upkeep >.>

Ask Yugioh how refraining from keywords is going.

Spoiler Alert: Not well.

Unless you like having to use a low power magnifying glass to read the effect because they dropped the font size to 3.

And I'm pretty sure Fear has been around for a hell of a long time, just saying.

As for the dumbing down bit, they have morphed away from having a conglomeration of almost random cards and loosely affiliated cards to basically building your decks for you by pigeonholing many cards into decks, so now you kinda just look for what cards got pigeonholed. But at the same time, there's a lot more play styles than the basic Burn, etc type decks.

Mythic cards are bullshit, and you're a cunt if you use 99% of them (I think there's a couple that aren't ridiculous).
