Been there, done that, there's no excuse for these people to be bigoted and ignorant.

Completely agree.

Everyone I've ever met thinks they are a moderate for what ever "side" they are on(and its those other guys that are crazy over the top!). Problem is everyone also thinks the guy with an opposing opinion is an idiot. Pretty much seems to break down based on where you are from, city people tend to have a lot more help with welfare/aid stuff, mail/garbage men, accessible cops and a million more important things, all this stuff that makes millions of people living on top of each other possible. With small towns you don't get all that stuff you have to be a bit more self reliant, if you want your mail you have to go get it, if you want your house to not be full of trash you have to drive to the dump and if you want to feel safe "out in the world" you might want to carry a firearm(might take 10-15 mins to get the police to help you out).

People just don't seem to understand that what works great for 10mil people jumbled together might not be a good idea for say >10k and vica versa.

PS, on topic: People care way to much about what other people think these days ; [ It's hard for me to give a shit about said flag, my ancestors were not in the US during the Civil War and neither was I so it's hard for me to say what that flag means to descendants of people who fought for the south, seems to me that in most case's the meaning is probably "FU I do what I want!" as there are so many negative things associated with it(and you never hear about positive things if there are any if you live up north as I do) and I would assume people could find something else to have pride in if they wanted to.

My main point, and perhaps this doesn't apply to you (pretty sure it still applies to Mayo), is that far to many people are close minded about issues because of their total leanings.

I thought about arguing this point, but I'll just bring up how much of an ass you are when you get the idea in your head that you'll be more popular from arguing my point of view in a month or so.

EDIT:

I wouldn't care at all if people (Eturnal) would stop lashing out and accept that they're racist so we can all move on.

Also, the historical revisionism concerning the cause of the civil war is very, very frightening.

It's not new. It's been going on continuously since before the Civil War itself.

It's just becoming more of an issue as the South increasingly comes into political parity with the North due to deindustrialization and (ironically enough) immigration to the Southern states, and also because the civil rights movement has driven long-held biases and views to be challenged.

This was well put. I just wanted to point that out.

By all odds, I should be a moderator on Stormfront and a member of the Klan based on where I'm from :/

We get called 'Frednecks' ffs. feelsbadman. Town is split pretty evenly 3 ways:

-people like me and most of those i associate with
-racist white trash idiots
-snobby hipsters / scene and emo band kids / young adults who think they're in high school

True enough but that's not what this is about is it? Besides there are plenty of rural communities up North.

Same for mine - we were in Germany at the time, we'd nation-hop again before coming to America - but in the here and now, the issue is an important one, because some people have damn good reasons to be upset about it because the issues endure into the present and affect us all as a nation.
