You know, most people don't rightly give a fuck if gay folks gay it up, because most of us have bigger fish to fry. However, most people also still see homosexuality as a little bit weird and out-of-the-norm even if it they find it harmless, and have no objections to what consenting adults do during their naked alone time. The "Santorum" gag is only going to serve to put an ugly face on a formerly-fringe part of society that is finally starting to see itself embraced by the majority, something that's happened because when the average person thinks of LGBT now, they think of Ellen DeGeneres and Will & Grace, not creepy perverts doing something unnatural. If anything, should Santorum's dumb ass (May God Forbid) win the nomination, this little ha-ha-funny-funny is going to make an otherwise unlikeable dipshit sympathetic to a lot of people. Probably not enough for him to win election (better the devil we know, I guess...), but it's going to leave an ugly stain on a movement that has thus far been successful by being friendly and rational. It only serves to give ammunition to people like Santorum, and is therefore counter-productive regardless of how much of a chuckle anyone gets out of it.
