Azelma, if you want to be the guy buying dinner and drinks, just ask the woman if she's a feminist.
And if she says yes, leave her.
Broad: Where/when would you like to meet?
Aestu: We could meet tomorrow or this Friday at a food court near my place in Allston...If we feel comfortable, we can head back to my place; it’s a short walk. How does that sound to you? Also, are you a Star Ocean 2 fan?
[her hairstyle and color and even her sitting pose exactly matched that of the female protagonist, who was anything but a feminist icon]Broad: This weekend doesn't work for me, I am working a lot. Maybe early next week, say monday or wednesday? I think I know what food court you're talking about.
Broad: I get out of class at 6:30 on Monday, I could be there by 7. Yes, I know where it is.
Aestu: Alright. May I ask you:
1. What made you decide to post on the site?
2. What are you looking to get out of it?
3. What are your goals/expectations?
4. Would you describe yourself as a feminist?
Broad: Don't you think you should wait until the date to start asking questions?
Aestu: No, I think it’s best to have expectations worked out ahead of time. I don’t think this is going to work. No need to meet Monday.
Broad: Alright, way to be judgemental. You're just coming off as kind of creepy.
Aestu: What does “creepy” mean?
Broad: In this case it means the questions made me uncomfortable and caused me to wonder what you even wanted out of the date, which shouldn't happen according to the website's rules. A date should be what was agreed on, without extra "expectations".
Aestu: Why did the questions make you uncomfortable?
“Precautions”. Am I not also entitled to take “precautions” to protect my reputation etc against any possible misunderstandings?
“Expectations”. I asked about your expectations for the date. How is that unreasonable?
You’ve demonstrated my impression of you was correct – you have unreasonable expectations and are paranoid/irrational. People like you are dangerous and to be avoided.
Broad: Please, you're just reacting to being called creepy, which you definitely are. No wonder you can't get a date any other way than by paying for it. Just think about how pathetic your life is. I bet it's really sad, isn't it? Go fuck yourself, I'm glad I don't have to go on a date with you. I'm not paranoid or irrational. I'm just a woman trying to make money and meet nice men (which you clearly are not one of), forgive me for reacting to my instincts and trying to protect myself. YOU are the one who is dangerous and to be avoided. I'm going to flag you as a jerk so that the other girls don't accept your offers. So, you know, good luck with your tragic, lonely life.
Aestu: And you can’t get money by any other way than…selling yourself?
Let me throw it at you this way. If you think anyone who has to “pay for a date” is a “creepy jerk with a lonely life” what makes you think you’ll find a “nice guy” that way?
What defines a “nice guy” to you?
Broad: 1. I don't sell myself, I sell my time. The mere fact that you think I "sell myself" shows me what you expected from the date and confirms that you're a creepy loser.
2. It means whatever I want it to mean because it's a word based on a gut reaction. Also, dictionaries exist. Even online ones. Wow.
3. You trying to protect yourself is not on the same level as me trying to protect myself. (Yeah, I'm a feminist.)And finally, you're crazy. I've done nothing irrational, and i'm no more paranoid than I need to be to stay safe. You're just pissed because you're a loser. I feel sorry for you.
Aestu: 1. Same difference.
2. Case in point – you have an outrageous sense of entitlement. “Creepy” really means “Does not give me what I want, when I want, and is therefore instantly bad”
3. So what, you think your rights and needs are more important than others?
Yes you’ve been irrational. You make all kinds of wild accusations but you have no basis for them.
There is no rational basis to be fearful of your safety ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD SAID I DON’T WANT TO MEET YOU EVER. You’re saying someone who doesn’t want to meet you is planning on doing you harm? If that’s not paranoid onto psychosis I don’t know what is.
Loser. What does it mean to be a loser and how am I a loser? At this juncture you are begging for money from people online yet somehow I am in a position to give you that money. Who’s the loser? Who’s in a position to feel sorry for who?
Broad: Well now I'm starting to think that you just get off on being a huge jerk. Lol I don't give a fuck what you think because I just use scummy guys like you who no one wants for money. Because you all ARE pathetic. That's the entire point.
I can have all the sense of entitlement I want. I deserve the world. You deserve nothing. Except maybe a shitty little apartment in Allston and dating girls who will never like you because you are a disgusting piece of shit who doesn't respect women.
Aestu: You “use scummy guys” for money and think you should get “help” because you’re a pretty girl.
Is that an attitude that deserves respect?
You call yourself a feminist but you value yourself based on your body “pretty”.
Isn’t that devaluing yourself? Isn’t it hypocritical to claim you believe in female empowerment then expect guys to give you stuff because you’re female? What to you defines a gentleman? Giving you money? Let me ask you – if giving you stuff is being a gentleman, then what makes you a lady? What is the reciprocal expectation on your end?
That IS what I initially asked, no?
Broad:
I can do whatever I want. I don't care if it's hypocritical. I don't care if it's right. What people get is my time, my company, and a chance to look at/be seen with me. Is the expectation supposed to be that I not care about the money? That's ridiculous. I don't think the site is even the right place for you then if that's YOUR attitude, because all/most of the girls you meet there are broke college girls who figure this is easier than getting an actual job. And it is, and it's not even like you guys are in short supply. If I have a time-slot where I can fit in a date, it gets filled. It's incredible.
I value myself based on a lot of things. My body/looks being one of many, it just happens to be one that's easy to exploit. It really doesn't matter what you think of my attitude because fact is, there are tons of people who are GRATEFUL that I'm even willing to give them the time of day.
Also, I don't think you have a clear understanding of what feminism is.
Aestu: Tons of people are fools.
You can do whatever you want. You are hardly unique in this regards; the right to do “whatever you want” applies to everyone. Any given choice one makes, however, necessarily has consequences.
In response to your “choices”, I have the choice to not associate with you, with the consequence you don’t get my dough. I declined the date because it became very clear to me that you are simply more trouble than you are worth.
Feminism? Feminism is an organized hypocrisy. Feminists assume a pretense of “equality” yet demand prerogatives predicated on the condition of being inferior.
This is because feminism isn’t really about “equality”, it’s about greed and self-gratification.
You should ask yourself how it reflects on you that what gets you money, attention, whatever, is your body. Again, what are you selling? You can be a whore without ever taking your clothes off.
Why is it you are “broke” and unable to get an “actual job”? How does that reflect on your “worth”?
Also you realize someday you will no longer be young and pretty. What will you bring to the table then? Will anyone be so eager to give you the time of day?
And, most importantly, how will you be able to make the adjustment? There are a lot of angry “old maids”. It’s a pejorative for a reason.
I mean, look at it this way. Why should I be “grateful” YOU give me “the time of day”? What makes you more special than anyone else? Answer me that.
