...Anyone else noticed?

I've been checking my local supermarket for dried pineapple I use to make Thai soup...none in stock for a while...then I realized I hadn't seen fresh pineapples in a while, either.

Apparently, there's a global pineapple shortage that's been getting worse for the last two years. It's a silent crisis.

We won't talk about the cause of this crisis. But it's actually kind of a big deal, if you think about it.

This is dire however.

Fuck pineapple.

I haven't seen a pineapple shortage at my local supermarkets. My son finds pineapples most amusing when going through the produce department so we play with them each weekend.

Anyways, I've seen them all over recently - they're in our supermarkets (bought whole, canned or in a fruit tray), at SuperTarget and also at Edible Arrangements where they get dipped chocolate to make a tasty treat!

Florida seems to be doing okay on them. Maybe it's a northern thing?

Also, nothing beats fresh cut pineapple. Canned pineapple cannot even come close.

I haven't noticed anything, either. Not only did I just see pineapple in the grocery across the street from the office when I went over there for juice, but the other night when I was in a different store with a bulk aisle, there was literally a bin of dried pineapple. I haven't noticed any price spikes on either.

Pineapple has an uninteresting taste. But point, grapefruits and their derivatives aren't exciting either.
