Well, look at it this way, if you ask me it's gotten way better than Wrath. If they can pull off half the things they're talking about for Mists I'll be pleased.

my first impression of cata was very poor, that's why the lost me.

At this point it would be too much trouble to rejoin the raiding scene anyway.

edit: warlocks still look like they're as boring as cata prepatch

Depends on what you mean by raiding scene. If you just want to raid, you can do Dragon Soul. Not hard, basically free gear and queue times aren't bad.

Hell, you can jump into normal raids fairly easy. They gave up on the "We want epic gear to feel epic" and went so far that even they admit they made legendaries too easy to get.

Cata is generally pretty good. The made alot of improvements like being able to do all your daily BGs/Dungeons in one day or so. That way you don't feel like you have to log on everyday or you'll fall behind. Plus transmog is normally pretty fun.

You have to watch which scroll you accept. I think I heard that you can only faction change if your friend's char is the other faction but I'm unsure.

If I were you I'd probably just go Alliance because I think all of us Horde bros have Alliance chars.
