How do I get past this??
Simple. Don't.
Stay miserable until you don't feel like being miserable any more.
You will not starve to death nor will you remain miserable until you're an old woman. You'll grieve for a while, but eventually, you'll find peace and your mind will shift towards the happier times.
That will be much more difficult given the horrible way your pet had to die...but my advice is to not try to forgive the other dog or stop being angry...just accept that you are angry and upset, revel in those emotions, and with time, they will dissipate on their own. The more you try to suppress your misery and bitterness, the longer those feelings will stay with you.
And you should probably go yell at your mother too. You are no doubt angry at her, whether or not it is rational to blame her. It is better to go yell at her and blame her for what happened than continue to hold an irrational grudge forever. Because she is your mother, she shall surely recognize you are grieving, and when you are feeling better, she will forgive you your outrageous behavior.
