That being said, I can't really defend "shit threads like this" other then to say that he should start more threads. I mean, sure it's possible they could also get derailed. This is his thread starting history (I think).

I mean, not saying it's a bad thing that he starts threads so often, but when most the time you're only making new threads once a month or so, chances are the threads that are around aren't going to be on a topic you care for.

Basically, if you want less shit threads, make more threads that aren't shit and encourage them to grow in a manner that you'd like them to. aka don't complain that no one brought dessert to the potluck when you could have just as easily brought it yourself.

Pretty much this. I didn't mean to piss anyone off by posting stupid links. I was just trolling because a thread was started that I had no context for, or understanding of what the heck was even being talked about, and it just seemed like the middle of a thought. So I was like...okay, here's some stupid shit to entertain myself with. Childish? Yes. Mean spirited? Not intended.

Anyway, if it made someone leave FUBU permanently...my bad. I've apologized to him in a PM, since I don't want to alienate anyone from the community.

It's a statement of fact. That remark is supported by the facts of the article and it is their ultimate significance for reasons I explained already: because the cult of militarism is the bedrock of the corporate state and this article highlights both that connection and the fallacy of the former.

You can disregard what I said, you can get offended, or you can make a point of choosing to get offended on the behalf of others. Which did you do?

What actually amuses me the most about this thread now is how Aestu keeps telling us that this, that, and the other response is childish and/or not intelligent, yet all those responses, or at least the way he perceives them, are things he does on the regular. I'm beginning to think someone never grew out of his narcissistic phase as an adolescent.

Distinction without a difference.

Play ball or go home, but whether you stand on the field with the glove on your hand and cry because you've been "annoyed" or "offended" it adds up to exactly the same thing and the only way you could blame someone else for that behavior is if you are a child. As an adult it is the facts of your own actions you bear responsibility for.
