For those looking for massive changes to MMO formats...I'm curious what you would like to see done differently in order to entice you to play?

Make the games single player and not require a sub. I'm done with MMOs and I think TF2 is the most multiplayer I'll ever pick up again.

Fuck paying for a whole game and a sub on top of it when I can't stand 99.9% of the people that play said game.

You can't stand 99.9% of people in general, don't blame the game.

I do not disagree with the fact that Bethesda games may be buggy (Skyrim was for sure, but I had no trouble with Oblivion). I disagree that it was a "horrible game." I logged in over a hundred hours into that game and loved every minute. It was awesome buying my house in Solitude, crushing the stormcloaks and leaving Ulfric's body to rot in his throne room, clearing out an entire room of mobs without using a single offensive ability (go Illusion!), sneaking around at night and breaking into houses looking for sleeping victims to feed on (go Sanguinare Vampiris!), and using awesome shouts to vanquish my enemies. Bugs? A few. Game breaking? No. Horrible game? Absolutely not.

It just simply isn't for you. And that's just fine.

I always hated Fallout 3. It was a bad game, handled like a swamp, and shit all over the setting and story that I loved from Fallout 1 and 2.

I liked Fallout 3, mainly because I really liked the idea of the metropolitan wasteland. Fucking super mutants everywhere was the worst, however.

I really like New Vegas DLC. Except for Dead Money.

I'd also like to see more talent/customization choices instead of less. Oh, picking an extra 1% crit or 1% hit or 1% damage? I like that. Maybe I want to hit harder OR maybe I want to hit twice as hard more often OR maybe I just want to hit more in general. Now, I'm not saying go back to 5 point talents, 3 is a good number. I'd just like the ability to make those choices. Sure, they won't matter much in the long run but at least I got to make them. Find a way to give me lots of talent options without 1% fillers? Even better.

While i'm pretty ok with their new talent system i do wish they had a couple of filler ones in between where you could choose stat buffs like that. It's like with the gems, i always want to pick crit. It's fun. But with gems you often need to get hit capped and all sorts of other boring shit. If they had a couple more talents in there with some stats i can't see that being a bad thing. Perhaps 3 or 4 additional tiers where you pick between 2% / crit / haste / mastery. The devs are pretty quick to dismiss these kinds of talents are boring, but i always enjoyed seeing my crit % going up as i geared / leveled up.

Forgot, I'd like to see FFA PvP on a larger scale then just a small arena in the jungle. As well as smaller battlegroups if any at all or at least the ability to sit in a longer queue to fight people from just your server (much like the experience off queues except hopefully not as long)

I really think the killing of AV and world pvp in general was far more detrimental than even the most harshest critics are giving it credit for. Its place in the entire realm of wow pvp i think is being undervalued. I remember fondly (well, not so fondly) running into local server bros with masses of gear. When you saw that High Warlord in a BG, yeah he might have just been a baddy with no life, but he hit like a truck. That sense of awe (for lack of a better term) is lost. AV and world PvP was a place where these people stood out. Instead with the arena system how it is, and everyone ending up with roughly the same gear (the point of difference becoming whatever legendary weapon or OP class is the in thing instead) you completely lose that element of there being that guy you have to fucking kill or you'll probably lose. Occasionally you'll get people who are just better than everyone else, which is great! That is definitely ideal with the current battlegroup setups, skill should win out. But i miss that whole "oh it's THAT guy" which we used to get in the pre-battlegroup BGs and when for whatever reason the big fellas decided to go attack Southshore.

Feel free to dismiss that as nostalgia. But i really miss the rivalry. And if that rivalry still existed, the incentive to gear up would become even greater. Before i stopped playing i just didn't care about the PvP scene at all. I remember in TBC with Arenas we'd see the same teams regularly. And that became kind of fun. OH ITS THOSE GUYS WE ALWAYS LOSE TO THEM but then you beat them and you feel good. So i'm not shitting on Arenas, just, there doesn't really feel like much of a point to it all in an MMO sense. No emotion in it. Just... grind my points, get my gear, pretend to care. If i actually had specific people i wanted to kill, the care factor would go up massively.

It's not an arbitrary remark. People from those backgrounds seldom have the strength of character to play good, challenging games. Girl gamers, children of divorced parents and PWTs are the ones looking for the "A WINNER IS YOU" light flashing whenever they play the game.

They are people with low self-esteem, from backgrounds that actively discourage initiative and discovery, who have been shaped all their lives by petty and small-spirited ideas and people.

When they sit down to play games, they bring this attitude with them and drag everything down to their level. Devs, including MMO devs, have made the fatal mistake of trying to get these people to buy video games, to the detriment of the genre. Any good MMO must be willing to tell them to fuck off.

The rivalry had to go, because with so many people leaving server or game, queue times were getting dicks.

what they should have is an option to fight people on your server only in queue's for bg's, which I'm pretty sure War Games fills that role, but I haven't tried it.

Still, it was too little too late for rivalries.

TES has always been a hit or miss series. Not playing the others before it would only mean you had no idea what you were getting into.
