So, as is known, I bought an annual sub with gold from Recuperation, aka Luis Camacho, age 19.
Perhaps predictably, I got an email today informing me the credited time was removed:
Quote:
We are writing to inform you that, regrettably, due to a payment issue related to one of the accounts you “referred” via the Recruit-a-Friend system, the free month(s) subscription issued to your account has been disabled. Please note that this is not a penalty for your account, but it may require you to update your subscription details if you wish to continue to play.
However, the duration of your World of Warcraft Annual Pass has been extended accordingly so you can still take advantage of this special promotion.
This may bring my sub to an early end, especially since I already cancelled the associated credit card; if my account gets frozen I flatly don't care. It's not a penalty, so I can always rez it later. At worst, I paid 100k gold for four months of sparsely used gametime.
Even if the stupid mount gets removed, which hasn't happened yet, I still won't care.
Blizzard is on shaky legal ground arbitrarily revoking awarded game time. It's important to note this is not a chargeback issue - commitments on my end were fully met, and a Google search indicates that many players have been affected in this way recently.
So I don't believe Blizzard will force the issue. They seem to have decided to give me a grace period - I can still log into the account and status is shown as "pending". I imagine it will freeze when the grace period ends.
Meowth? Baneleaf? Mazel? What do you think?
