I finally want to get a new computer, i currently have a dell 8400 that ran WoW perfectly, but now with guild wars 2 coming out D3 etc its pretty much done. It keeps quitting on me even after card upgrades and is pretty much shot, its from 2002....so im having trouble finding a good buy for a new computer.

I do not really wanna drop tons of money but i want to be able to play D3 GW3 WoW higher end games etc, without a problem 30+ FPS and no freezes, hopefully mid graphics range area. So with all the options out there im having trouble choosing for whats best for me, ive always been bent on building my own computer, but its hassle since i really dont know where to start, i mean i can upgrade cards etc. I was wondering if anyone out there can help me out, perhaps by recommending a good computer to buy, or helping me out on building my own.

Many thanks in advance,
Dis

Go to Best Buy, find the most over priced piece of shit you can find, then buy it and whatever else you can throw your money at.

You're welcome. ;]

Building your own is easy.

Motherboard, CPU, video card, ram, hard drive(s), power supply, case. Nowadays everything is color coded, can be inserted one way only, and is generally retard proof as long as you know what you're doing or take 5 minutes to look up a step by step guide on how to do it/what precautions to take.

Don't these cancel each other out?

Also, dick punching only happened initially followed by "This worked out great"

The most annoying part was installing the CPU, especially if you had to attach a heatsink. Now lots of CPUs come with a heatsink attached. no more gooey mess :D

Poormans edition

i3-2120 Processor
H61 Motherboard
550w PSU
Any case
HD 6870 Graphic card
500GB+ Hard drive (Not Green/Eco/5400 RPM)
4 or 8 GB RAM - DDR3 (1333MHz)

The newest Intel i3's are not available yet, but if you want to get a better processor look at i5-3570k (Overclockable) or i5-3450/3550 (non-overclockable). Which you should then get a Z77 motherboard to have all the features enabled.

What do you think about the i3 vs i5? I haven't been keeping up with it. Is an i3 basically just for ordering pizza on internet explorer or what?

This thread interests me. I was thinking of building my own PC as well, since all my friends are doing it.

But this is coming from someone who didn't know what a torrent was until a few months ago

Dual core + Hyperthreading vs Quad core. Currently doesn't really affect anything in regard to games except a select few like SC2 which have CPU heavy graphic options. Even then the graphical difference compared to the FPS loss from Ultra to High or even Medium can be minimal at best like it in BF3. The i3 is equal or better than AMDs Phenom II quad cores if you like those comparisons

We use the 3450s in a lot of new servers here at work, and they seem really good.
