I have been reading the books as well as the wiki page for a while. My wife just finished the third book so I can start up on it soon. There are the few subtle changes which had to be done for tv but it is still a very good book-to-show adaptation.

9 level 90s and 10 85s, Damn I need another hobby.

Subtle? Season 1 had subtle changes, I can buy that. Season 2 has entire scenes and huge segments of plot that straight up never happened.

Of course it's impossible to perfectly translate a book to TV show format. Some of the departures are kind of glaring, though.

I can forgive the battle being different, as they're massively expensive.

I feel like the entire Renly subplot where he's gay wasn't in the books, but he was never a POV character so I'll accept that too.

I was really annoyed by Ned Stark getting stabbed in the back of the leg by some dude in the show as opposed to a horse falling on him in the book. I actually preferred the guy stabbing him in the show, i just don't understand why they made it different at all.

To give us a Ned/Jaime fight. It never happens, but it was really goddamn cool.

Ah the people killed in harranhal by Jaqen(one of my favorite characters) are all different somehow.

I miss syrio forel.

What a great episode. I don't understand the ending though, but I guess they'll explain what the hell's going on in the third season.
