I was talking to one of those Canadians about minimum wage laws today. He tells me that minimum wage in Canada is CN$10+ (versus ~US$8 here).
Including currency valuation, cost of rent and utilities, and social services, that means that the poorest working Canadians have around
twice the standard of living we do. Maybe more, maybe much more.
And their country is not about to go belly-up from "welfare", "entitlement", and "laziness".
Because clearly that's what's wrong with this country. Clearly, the "free market" guarantees the highest standard of living.
