this is story time about girl troubles with need for opinions, so if isn't your cup of tea move on. i'm only posting because this is seriously one of the most confusing situations i've ever been in.
so, i meet this girl at work. she's real mousy, super awkward, quiet, etc. im interested as fuark so i keep trying to talk to her and i'm not getting anywhere. one day i'm eating my lunch and i overhear her talking to some other people about where she lives. "i live in a house with my boyfriend". i'm like, "ok, that explains it. done with this girl." fast forward a couple weeks, she still gets super awkward around me, but no one else. finally, one day im not working, she is, and im buying stuff (we work at an organic grocery store) and i go through her line. suddenly, she's chatty, asks me about the army, says she wants to hear more sometime. pokerface.jpg and i'm like, "yeah sure anytime." alpha as fuck. a couple days later, i see her, she's leaving, i'm coming into work, short, meaningless exchange. i walk into the back room and she has left a note on the bulletin board that basically says she's quitting because she's been going through a lot of personal stuff and can't maintain the high energy level required of working there. i'm like fuuuuuuu so i go SUPER creep mode and get her phone number from our directory, text her and say, "i know you just quit, but i'd still really like to hang out sometime." for some unknown reason, she's like "yeah that would be cool". so i'm thinking personal stuff probably = broke up with boyfriend, time for me to subjugate, infiltrate and infect. i pick her up at a house, we drive to a bar at like 8pm. she is dressed like it's a date, even though i just said hang out. we're having a GREAT time. getting along awesome. we are connecting in a super not-every-day kind of way. i casually ask what her living situation is, says she lives in a house with boyfriend. i'm thinking, "what the fuck." gets awkward for a second and she says, "im sorry, did you think this was a date?" and i'm like, "nop, just hanging out." things get much less tense after that. she relaxes a lot more. we begin having an even greater time. warm night so we're talking outside of bar until about 1am when she mentions she has appointment at 9am. i'm like, oshi lets get you home. drop her off. i offer her a ride in the morning to her appointment because she mentions 1 hour bus ride. she says yeah that'd be great. next morning, sitting in her driveway waiting to pick her up. garage door opens. boyfriend sees me sitting in driveway and obviously confused. i introduce myself and say, "i'm giving so-and-so a ride" he looks confuse and says, "ah ok ill go get her." wondering if he knew she'd been out last night and wondering why she didn't mention me giving her a ride in the morning." she comes out, no kiss goodbye, gets in car and i drop her off after a short ride.
i am so beyond confuse. is she lining me up to jump ship? is she just really nice? she doesn't seem naive. i think it also might have something to do with if she breaks up with that dude she has nowhere to live. the night before i casually mentioned, "so you're kinda trapped at that house." she agreed then quickly rescinded and laughed nervously, as if she didn't want to think about it.
thoughts?
Verily, I have often laughed at weaklings who thought themselves proud because they had no claws.
