The largest games convention on Earth is happening in Cologne, Germany from August 15 to 19 this year. Blizzard Entertainment is excited to announce our presence at gamescom 2012, where visitors will have the chance to witness the world premiere of the World of Warcraft®: Mists of Pandaria™ opening cinematic. The latest creation from Blizzard’s cinematics team will be shown on giant screens at our booth on Thursday, August 16, the first fully public day of the event.

We’re also pleased to announce that this year we’ll be showcasing World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Diablo® III, and StarCraft® II: Heart of the Swarm™! Don’t miss your chance to experience the games first-hand and to meet members of the development teams. In addition, be sure to get creative and join in our famous dance and costume competitions.

Visit the Blizzard Entertainment booth in Halle 6.1 (B21) at the Koelnmesse in Cologne and prepare to be epically entertained. For more information on gamescom, check out the official site.

This means an early to mid September release. I'm disappointed. I really don't want to play this awful expansion for two more months. I'm thinking about quitting entirely until GW2 or MoP.

I'm still hoping for October so I can finish my staff and get some use out of it.

what the hell is the ragnarok

also you haven't been keeping up with DS's. They're far easier to pug than Firelands is nowadays.

I am disappointed in you.

I'd imagine. I suck at pugging/making pugs and every pug in the world is going to have rogue's chomping at the bit to go that will probably do more than afk the entire time.

Maybe it's the 104 degree heat outside that's making me feel so complainy. I'm still torn between Gw2 and mop anyway. If Gw2 isn't as smooth as wow, I can't play it for more than a month. If Yura is right, I'll be sticking with mop.

Loki slips from his chains and joins the jotuns (giants), they ascend on Asgard along with the dishonored warriors being brought from Hel. Loki and Heimdall slay eachother.
Fenris breaks his bond, devours Odin alive, is later killed by Viorr.
Thor narrowly defeats the brother of Fenris, Jormungandr, but is poisoned and dies shortly after.
Surtr, who leads the jotuns, will fight and slay Freyr, but Freyr will manage to shove his horn in his eye, and in his rage, Surtr will scorch the earth.
The world then sinks into the sea, eventually engulfing the fires that touch the heavens.
The waters recede, a volva witnesses an eagle fishing over a waterfall, and the few remaining gods meet upon the battlefield, and discuss events.

TL:DR
Ragnorak is the Norse Pagan (Viking) description of the death and rebirth of the world.

"Ok we aren't such things and birds are pretty advanced. They fly and shit from anywhere they want. While we sit on our automatic toilets, they're shitting on people and my car while a cool breeze tickles their anus. That's the life."

I haven't played WoW since D3 came out. I still have an active account, but I can't think of a reason to log on.

You know, it's weird. I thought, upon quitting a few months into Cataclysm, that I'd become part of the "only play when there's an expansion coming out" crowd that I had seen so much of, particularly on the forums. But the near-universal lack of enthusiasm for Mists of Pandaria (at least from those who played pre-Wrath) has kept me from even entertaining the thought of coming back. I wouldn't call it disdain by way of nostalgia, but I absolutely cannot fathom the thought of ever playing again --- it's a different game with different trends that's played by different people. Still, it feels particularly strange that I am, for the first time, completely and totally indifferent to an upcoming expansion. It's somewhat liberating, though.
