I'm looking for a copy of the Prose Edda, do you have a recommendation to edition/translation/etc?

There's one from the American-Scandinavian Group that's like 100 years old IIRC, that's a little more comprehensive.

But that one is good for beginning, as it explains things plainly. You're also more likely to find that in a library than the A-S one.

Also, when you finish the Prose, Find a copy of the Poetic by a guy named Henry Bellows.

Assuming you're interested, of course. If the Prose doesn't tickle your fancy, there's no reason going into the Poetic. But it has things that aren't in the Prose.

He's also the father of Jormungandr, Fenrir, and Hel. He's just a weird dude.

I got a copy last night and spent 2 hours reading, it's fucking awesome. I might just tap the library for a copy of the Poetic, but it's one of those things I think I'll prefer to own. Guh, Norse mythology is so awesome.
