why not Canada

Is that seriously an option? I'd do it - hell it might even be cheaper.

How would that work financially though? It can't be as easy to get a loan/federal aid as a US citizen attending a CAN school, can it?

If you are going to school in Richmond you can have a free cup of yogurt at one of the stores I manage :).

I would not know how your financial aid systems work but in Ontario at least they (OSAP) will give you student loans for any post secondary (internation, other provinces, etc etc) as long as you're an Ontario citizen.

Thinking about it more, I am having serious doubts about this enterprise.

First off, tuition is VERY expensive: almost US$13,000 per term, books and housing extra (would bring the total to around $20,000 per four-month semster). Frankly, I think that's a ripoff.

The other concern is reading the student code of conduct.
Choice quotes:

Quote:
Undergraduate and graduate students who violate the SCOC shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary sanctions. Law and Medical students are only subject to their respective Honor Codes for conduct covered under such codes.

Quote:
(iii) The university also reserves the right to take disciplinary action for conduct that occurs beyond the 2600 feet boundary only when the student, in the university’s sole judgment, poses an obvious threat of serious harm to any member of the university community.

http://www.uc.edu/ucwc/sexual_violence/faq.html

Quote:
Policy on Amnesty
The University community encourages the reporting of conduct code violations and crimes by victims, especially sexual misconduct. Sometimes, victims are hesitant to report such conduct to university officials because they fear that they themselves may be accused of policy violations, such as underage drinking at the time of the incident. It is in the best interests of this community that as many victims as possible choose to report code violations to university officials. To encourage reporting, the university of Cincinnati does not charge victims with non-violent violations, such as unauthorized use of alcoholic beverages or Drugs or Narcotics, related to the incident.

So basically, the law/medical divisions get a different (and less ridiculous) system, presumably because the university actually takes those fields seriously. And if you are a woman and you did something wrong, just accuse some guy of rape and you get a get out of jail free card! Oh, and the university can arrest you, on a whim, preferably if you're within half a mile of campus, but even if you're not they can still do so.

Oh yes, and there's Mitchel D. Livingston, CDO, UC's official in-house racist.
I wonder what his take is on the pencil test?

I've had enough ridiculous dealings with campus gestapos. So...yeah. I'd rather do something else.

On Wednesday I'll talk to the military people. I think I'll also talk to that Canadian guy about his experiences with the chemistry program. Hell, it'd probably be cheaper, even with the overpowered Canadian dollar. Hopefully he'll be on tonight so I can ask him...

Another option would be to just start a business.

But yeah, I'm having second thoughts about another go with this system. I feel we've given these jackals enough money for one lifetime.

Now looking at AUS/NZ options...hm...

I think they're in South-East Virginia... Norfolk or something like that. (That's like a four hour drive up to DC bro.)
