What irritates me is that apparently one in three residents of Colorado have no (or insufficient) healthcare. How are we a first-world country? Like, at all? This is a disgrace.

I think people are more concerned about having a job than having health care at this point.

That would make for a very poor show.

This is somewhat true, there are very long waits for certain things.

Emergency services get pushed through quickly though.

Don't people take advantage of that? Claiming things are emergencies when they aren't to get pushed through?

People do it in the US too. ERs are not permitted to turn anyone away.

The abuse is more rife and costly here because we do not have any other means of guaranteed care and ERs are the most uneconomical avenue of care there is. Because Canada offers preventative and clinical care, this abuse is less common.

In any situation in the Canada where it would be necessary to go to the ER for want of care, it would be necessary to do so in the US, but the reverse is not true. Therefore, it is more frequent here.
