Alright, so three things.

1) What is the correct terminoloy for the Dragons or w/e on each map? I've always refered to and heared them refered to as "Dragon" but this guy is telling me that they terminology is "Drake". Is it just a higher level thing or what?

2) This same guy is bragging about being top 40 in the Oceanic Region. Other than the fact that there's only 100-150 teams that I can see there and he appaears to have only played 2 games, is there any merit to that? Speaking of rating/ranking, can someone equate to me what a good Elo rating is vs a bad and/or compare it to WoW Ratings?

3) Finally, what is this "Normal: W: 43" mean on the party screen? I assumed wins but as you can see I have 71 wins according to my profile page.

1) it's called dragon, that guy is fake + gay
2) everyone bragging about ranking is bad and should feel bad. It might even be true, but LoL is an offshoot of a gametype that was invented to make people who sucked at WC3 feel competent. So he has nothing to be proud of ;]
3) the W amount that shows up at the party screen is real games. Wins against bots don't count towards the display, but do count towards total wins (I think).

Also figured this. My friend was talking about how awesome he was and how he's so pro he uses skype (loool). I tried explaining to her how he actually wasn't any good but she's stupid and refuses to see it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong since, you know, I know nothing about LoL.


I figured it was something like that but I don't think I've played 30 bot games. I mean, it's possible.

Dominion wins don't count towards that number either ._.

some people do actually call it drake, it seems more common outside of the NA servers.

i'm just going to assume sarcasm and go back to playing darksiders, especially considering nobody who plays dota even remotely compares it to an RTS.

I've got nothing against MOBAs or whatever people refer to them as now, but at the end of the day the skill threshold is really low. Situational awareness? Sure, it's the minimap. You control one unit. One unit with 4 abilities.

the skill threshold on playing a hero is low, save for a few of them. there is a reason the top teams are the top teams for how long they have been. there is way more coordination between players then almost everyone who seems to disregard the game give any credit to.

i'm not trying to say it's NUMERO UNO ESPORT because esports are fucking retarded, but there is more shit that goes in then most people give credit to. it's also dumb to even bother trying to compare any of these games since they don't play anything alike, unless we're going to try and debate whether street fighter or counterstrike is the better competitive game.
